Yup, guess what guys? I've reached 50 votes today! So I've now decided that until I get my book up on the charts and more people start reading (vote, you bastards!) every 50 votes I will post a flashback following one of the characters in the story.
This time, it's going to be following the bosses of the rebels, Ben and Mikaela, and how they started the rebel organization ten, fateful years ago...

"Ben!" He barely heard the whisper through the crowded hall and he turned around, smiling when he saw it was Mikaela. She protectively clutched her folders to her chest as she got jostled by the people around her.
"Where were you?" she hissed, exasperated. "You were supposed to meet me outside ten minutes ago!"
He shrugged nonchalantly. "Everybody else was heading inside, so..." She gave him 'the death look.' Ben threw up his hands in a defensive position. "Please don't hurt me!"
He received a slap on the shoulder for his words. "Do you know what they made me do when I got inside?" Mikaela asked him. "I had to get changed into scrubs. In front of a man." Ben laughed.
"I got to get undressed in front of a woman, so, you know..." He wiggled his eyebrows seductively.
She didn't get it for a minute, staring blankly at him before a look of understanding crossed his face. "Ew, Ben, no!" He laughed and turned back into the crush of people. Mikaela walking beside him, she kept flinching towards the wall to avoid the bigger intimidating people, even if she was taller that most of the guys there. Automatically, he stepped to the her side to make a barrier between her and the others.
"So, how do you think we got the internship here?" Mikaela asked him.
"Well, I'm guessing it wasn't because of my amazing social skills," he said sarcastically. She rolled her eyes.
"Probably because of your academic skills. Why am I here, though?"
"Pshh, please. I'm not even the smartest kid in the school. Why should they pick me of all people?"
She turned to him, disbelieving. "Oh yeah? What's your average?" Ben looked away, ashamed.
"Ninety-two..." He muttered. Mikaela's mouth opened in shock.
"Ninety-two? That's great!"
"Meh. If it's not above ninety-five I consider it abismal." She punched him in the arm. "Ow!"
"Shut up, Ben. You probably got in here with your ninety-two." Ben shrugged. "Why me?"
"Well, they might have you in reception. You did work at that optometry center since you were in year eight."
"But I've only got an eighty-eight!"
"It's all about the social skills I don't have, Mik."
Eventually, the halls began to clear. They looked worringly at each other.
"Are we late?" Mikaela asked worryingly.
"Uhm." He looked down at the schedule and swore. "Yes, yes we are."
"Late for our first day... Lovely."
Six Months later:
Ben swept by the reception desk and threw a pile of folders on the counter. "Sorry," he said. "Busy day."
Mikaela gave an exasperated sigh and groaned. "I can tell. You've been here, like, four times already today?" She turned around and began sorting through the file cabinet, flipping through today's work. It was abnormaly quiet today in the building, the only visitor breaking her solitude was Ben.
