A few days had gone by since I last seen Greg, and all I could think about was our recent date. Man oh man was it out of this world! He has great conversation and kept a smile on my face ALL night. Throughout the night though, I could tell he was really feeling me. I made sure to look extra nice, and smell like a million bucks. I guess the reason for me not seeing him anytime after our date is because of Shannon. He’s probably whining and dining her… you know… giving her a little of his time. I’m not complaining though, because I will have him eating out of the palm of my hands, the next time I see him.
There was a knock on my door, and without thinking I almost ran to get it. Yeah, I admit… I miss Greg a little. But hey, no feelings allowed and mines are completely out of control. Without looking through the peep hole, I swung it open and was highly disappointed.
“Oh hey,” I said in my bored voice. I opened the door, just wide enough for everyone to come in.
“Is that anyway to treat your guest?” Kat asked.
“I guess she was expecting someone else,” Nikki announced while walking inside with a box of pizza in one hand.
“She’ll get over it,” Sam said.
“Ha Ha,” I faked a laugh while looking outside. “Where’s Shannon?”
“Oh she’s visiting Destiny,” Nikki said from the kitchen. I shut the front door, and joined my girls in the living room.
“I forgot today was the day she hangs out with her,” I said quietly.
“Yeah, but she said if she’s feeling up to it, she’ll stop by for a little bit.”
“Okay, so not to be rude or anything, but why are ya’ll here?” I asked.
“Damn, we haven’t seen you in a few days. We all thought it’ll be nice to just hang out,” Kat told me.
“Greg must’ve already put it on you for you to be acting like this,” Nikki replied while rolling her eyes at me.
“Acting brand new on us,” muttered Sam.
“Come on, ya’ll know I didn’t mean it like that. It was just a simple question. Didn’t mean to offend anyone,” I told me, trying to apologize without really doing it. I’ve always been stubborn and that’s one thing I hate doing. It makes me feel weak, and they know it.
“Whatever…” Nikki said.
“Anyway, the pizza is in the oven. We’ve got that new movie Think like a Man movie in great quality, and let’s not forget the candy. Now can we please get along tonight and just chill?” Kat was always the one to try and calm us down. She hated arguments and fights, so she tried to minimize it whenever she could.
“Let me just go turn off the lights in the back.” I hurried to the back. Not to just turn off the lights, but to also check my phone. I usually get business emails sent directly to my phone, but right now I’m just checking the time and my messages. It was currently 5:23 pm, and I still haven’t received any texts from Greg; maybe later then. I flicked the lights off, and joined my girls to watch this new movie I’ve been waiting to see. I know it’s going to be great and funny as hell, especially since Kevin Hart goofy ass is in it.
