Castle: The journey of love

"Date"

The next day they woke up almost at the same time, ate breakfast and sat on the couch watching a movie.

They were sitting next to each other on the white fluffy couch. They had choosen to watch a comedy this time. Beckett had a blanket around her and her knees pulled to her chest with her feet on the couch. Castle was with his feet on the floor and was carrying his head with his elbow placed on the edge of the couch. At some point, Castle probably got bored from the movie and took his laptop from the middle table and as he sat back he opened the computer and started typing something on it...

"Maybe he's having a moment of inspiration and decided to write a little bit" Beckett thought

Kate continued to watch the movie but not a hundred percent focused, every five minutes she looked at Castle to appreciate that view of him writing on his pajamas next to her, she smiled at this. As the movie was over, Beckett stood up and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water, Castle followed her.

"Beckett, do you wanna go out for lunch?" he finally spoke.

"You really want to go out with me?" She asked raising her eyebrow.

"Why not?" He stated.

"Are you asking me on a date, Mr. Castle?" Kate joked

"I believe so detective Beckett" he said with a smirk making her laugh

Both of them knew that they were going on an actual date, but as usual,they decided to lie to themselves and take that as a joke and believe that they were really just going out for lunch.

Castle was now sitting on the couch waiting for Beckett, she was dressing up to go to "Their Date". castle told her to dress normally, they werent going to a fancy restaurant, so when she came downstairs she was wearing black skinny jeans, a white shirt with a leather short jacket and of course, a pair of high heels, the shirt was summer type and was a little bit flowy, so you could barely see Kate's 4 months bump.

"Ready to go?" Castle asked

"More than ready" She answered with a smile on her face. Then they left .

Castle drove to the beach bar and the pair sat outside, the waitress came to them and asked what they wanted to order, castle and Beckett decided both to eat an hamburger.

"You know Castle, sometimes I even forget the real reason why you brought me here to the Hamptons" Kate said looking into his bright blue eyes.

"We still need to be careful, J seems to be dangerous" he answered

"I'm scared, I know in the precicnt everyone sees me as the detective that fears nothing, but its not like that, right now, I am even afraid of being a mom...and...can I tell you something Castle?" she started

"You can tell me anything you want" he said putting a hand in the middle of the table, she followed the movement with her eyes and placed a hand on top of his and the joined hands

"I love Josh"- These words touched Castle's heart really deeply making him sigh- "But he's not around to take care of our baby and I feel like I'll be doing everything alone, and thats why I'm scared because Josh will not be here to help me and I have no experience with kids" These words hurt Beckett as much as they hurt Castle, she loves Castle and saying this things to him hurts her more than we can imagine.

"You're not alone Kate, I'll be here for anything you need" He stated and squeezed her hand. But that happened again, its like they cant be friends at all. Castle broke the hands and with his hand placed a piece of hair behind her ear, that force appeared again, a force that join their mouths together to a kiss of true love, at leats is what they say, kisses are like tears, you cant hold back the true ones. There was the awkward silence again, as they pulled apart that 'I love him but its wrong' hit Beckett and Castle, but the waitress came in time to make it feel better by placing the hamburgers in front of them.

"Thank's" They mumbled at the same time to the waitress

"Enjoy your meal" The friendly girl said and then left

They started eating and after maybe ten minutes, a waiter came and placed too glasses of water in front of them:

"Here's your water" He said and then left. Both Castle and Beckett were so focused on eating their hamburgers that they didn't even looked at him.

When they finished the meal, Beckett took the glass of water and was about to drink it when Castle stopped her.

"Hold your glass right there!! Don't move!" He ordered Beckett

"Why Castle?! What's wrong?" Kate asked back

"Your water has a strange color!"

"What do you mean?"

"If you look at it in the sun you can see that some parts look blue"

"Blue?!" Kate almost screamed

"You better not drink it" Castle affirmed

"Castle there's a kind of poison that make the liquids turn blue" She said scared

"Are you saying that your water might have that poison"

"It's a possibility" And at that moment their phones rang at the same time

"This can't be good" Castle noticed

They took their phones out and looked at the messages in shock 'Too bad you didn't saw my face when I gave you water!! And too bad you didn't drank it! Nice too see you. J'

As Beckett finished reading it she immediately placed a hand on her bump. "Your baby can't born" she whispered remembering the last time they had received something from this unknown J

"Let's get the hell out of here" Castle said placing money on the table, standing up and then grabbed Kate's hand to pull her up.

They were walking to nowhere, and the stopped in a garden near that was facing the beach. As they stopped Castle looked at her and saw tears running down her face:

"Kate, I wish that there could be something else I could do but I can't think of anything else"

"This thing is killing me Castle, it's impossible to live in this conditions when you don't know when you're about to be poisoned, and you've been always here for me, more than you should actually, but you have to stop or you'll get hurt too"

"You know it's not gonna be that easy to get read of me" he said with a smirk on his face .

She let out a giggle and looked at his eyes, as he saw how scared she was by looking also to her eyes, Castle just opened his arms:

"Come here" he said

Tears fell down her face again, but this time she felt safe, the man she loved was right there with his arms around her and that was enough.
