Confrontation

Castle, Beckett, Ryan and Esposito were in their desks, Castle was just in his chair. Today the new captain was coming.

After an hour the four of them were in the office with the new captain, Iron Gates, no one liked her, not even Beckett.

"We will have some changes here in the precinct, starting for you Mr Castle, you're not a cop, you're a writer, so you're off the team you can go home" Gates said

"What?!" They all screamed at the same timing

"You all heard, and you detective Beckett, I heard the best about you, but looking at the fact that you're pregnant, starting now you'll just be doing paperwork"

"Excuse me?! you can't do that, the rules say that pregnant cops can work normally till 5 months"

"The rules say that, but you need to follow your captains orders remember?! so your just doing paperwork, and what do you still doing here?" Gates asked Castle who just got back in from a call

"You're about about to receive a call sir" Castle said and Gates phone started ringing, they left the office so she could talk in private

"Who did you called?" Ryan asked

"Just a friend that actually is the Mayor" Castle said

"Your a genius bro" Esposito said and gave him an hi5.

Captain Gates walked out of her office and looked at Castle:

"You're in again Mr Castle, and you can work normally till four months" She said with a very angry face

"Four?! its five not four" Beckett screamed but she didn't head because she went back to her office

Later that day

Beckett just left Josh at the airport. She didn't felt sad of him going because she didn't felt nothing for him, but the best thing to do was pretending the she does to avoid Castle knowing the secret of the baby's father. her life was just a total mess, so did Castle's.

As she stepped inside her apartment, there was an envelope in the floor, it was blank, but she opened it. In a paper written on computer was the following phrase:

"With Josh out of the way, we still have a chance together.     RC" Beckett putted the paper in her pocket and get to Castle's place she wasn't finding that funny.

She knocked on the door:

"Hey Beckett, what a surprise come in" Castle said and she stepped in

"What kind of joke is this this Rick?" She screamed furious at him. castle took the paper from her hands and read it

"You too?!" He asked

"What the hell do you mean with you too?"

"Kate calm down! come with me to my office" he said and both walked to the office

Castle took from his jacket pocket a paper and handed to Beckett "Read" he said

"Now that Josh's gone, we could try again, Rick.    KB"

"I didn't send you this" she said

"And I didn't send you that"

"Or someone is trying to get to get us together, or to make us fight" Beckett sigh

"Anyone in mind? did you talk with Lanie about what happened between us?"

Beckett thought a second about what lie did she told Lanie, but it couldn't be her cause she didnt knew about Castle, she thought it was an old friend that she meet in the club

"Your mom, did you told your mom?" Beckett asked Castle 

"Actually I did, I'm sorry"

"Never mind Castle we all need someone to talk with"

"Yeah that's true. But now, lets talk with my mother" Castle said, he walked to the living room and Beckett followed him "MOTHEEER" He screamed

"What is this Richard, couldn't you just go upstairs and tell what do you want?! oh, Hi Katherine! what's going on? why are you two with those faces?" The old lady was confused

"Did you wrote this?" castle asked giving her the two papers

"No! why are you even asking that?"

"Because you are the only person that knows that stuff between your son and I"

"But i swear I did send you this, i don't even know Katherine's address" Martha at looking at Castle

"Then who did?" Castle asked again

"I don't know" Martha screamed getting impatient 

Castle and Beckett's phone made the sound of message at the same time, they both look at the phones:

"Castle what the hell is this?"

"I have no idea, someone can hear us?"

"Who is it?" Martha asked

"Its a blocked number saying 'I sent those envelopes.         J" Said Beckett

"You need to change your phone numbers" Martha suggested and their phones rang again after she said that:

"The will not be enough" Castle read this time

"I should go home, this is getting scary here" Beckett said handing her jacket that was paused in the couch

"You think?!?!" Castle asked screaming right in her ear

"What Castle?" 

"You're staying here, at least just dinner with us, this J can hear us, we don't know what else can happen, and I'm not gonna let you walk alone in the streets at night"

"I have a gun" they were start fighting and Martha slowly went upstairs to let them alone

"yeah I know, but pregnant Kate, its dangerous anyways"

"Why do you care so much about the baby?"

"Its not just the baby, I care about you too"

"And why do you care so much, Rick?"

"You really wanna know? cause I think you already do"

"I don't think I do, tell me?"

Castle was saying it to himself, but it couldn't say it out loud, this was coming out his mouth:

"Because I... I...lo... Just forget it and lets not fight now, I don't want you to get stressed"

"Here you doing it again, when a problem is right in front of your eyes your first reaction is to walk away, like we did that afternoon"

"Beckett we agreed that we were going to put that behind us, move on with our lives"

"Im sorry Castle, I didn't wanted to bring this up right now"

"I'll forgive you with just one condition" Castle said with a smirk on his face

"What?" 

"If you let me take you home, i still don't want you to walk alone in the streets"

"Deal" she said smiling

"Let me just take my jacket" castle said and then they left

They were walking side by side, they were both really scared about that J. The streets were dark and empty, they were the only ones there. they heard a loud sound, it was a cat playing with a can. They continue walking, but Castle could feel Becket's fear, he got closer, their shoulders were touching, and then slowly, very slowly, he touched his hand, and the second after they were holding hands, Beckett wasn't scared anymore, she knew he was there to protect her. As they got on her building's door, she said:

"Thank you, for walking me home and for care so much about me" 

"Always"
