Sin's Pov:
"Can I go to Ruby's now?" Eva whined again for the billionth time since she woke up.
Today is Sunday. I woke up with a plan in mind. Today was supposedly Eva and I's day. We were meant to spend all day doing different activities together. I wanted to make up for being busy for all other six days of the week. Plus, I also had to apologize once again for firing her last nanny and have to find a nanny that suits her this time.
"Why? Eva, this is a father-daughter day." I pointed getting tired of how many times Ruby's name have been mentioned today.
"We spent all day together. We made pancakes and waffles. We went to the park and watched a movie. You even read a book to me which you never did before." Eva pointed back knowing exactly that what I was planning: I wanted to keep her away from Ruby but she wouldn't have it.
" I am trying to be a good dad." I defended denying her accusing tone.
"And you are. Yes , you have your moments but at the end of the day we are all humans. I love you, dad. But Ruby lives alone and ..." Eva stopped herself before allowing any other words to escape her mouth. Her blue ocean eyes became sadder at whatever thought she had in mind and that worried me.
"Doesn't she have any family , friends, boyfriend?" I inquired wanting to know the secret that Eva said she overheard.
"She moved away from them all. She is all by her own." Eva denied gazing through the window to Ruby's place.
The bond between both of them keeps on amazing me, each time. I have never knew that my little girl can grow attach to anyone this fast. She even demanded to be picked by Brad , last night, so he won't make any other wrong move near Ruby. She grew protective of the older woman in mere days. I , also, wasn't allowed to say a word to Ruby or even thank her because my daughter did it all by herself on my behalf, as she said. When I asked why, Eva said that I will merely mess it up if I talked and that I already started on the wrong foot with Ruby. I tried to ignore how little faith Eva has in me but every time she brings that woman up I get tense...Am I losing my little girl to a total stranger? What shook me to my core though was today's opening event, Eva ,my six year old, gave me clear correct instructions on how to make double chocolate chip pancakes. I mean clear measurements and steps. I was awestruck at how my spoiled kid wore an apron and decided to get messy...What the hell is happening to my Eva?
"What if she did them wrong and she isn't as nice as you think?" I blurted only to receive a mean glare from Eva.
"God did her wrong and her fiancé." Eva huffed with anger.
Without any other explication, Eva marched to the door and out. She didn't wait for my approval anymore. In mere minutes, she vanished slamming the door after her. Here I am , once again, running after my stubborn six year old. Why didn't Eva turn into a stereotypical kid; the one who just plays with barbies, wants the latest version of hatchimals and asks for ice cream all the time?
Running to the house beside us, I caught up with Eva while she was knocking on the door. Seeing me, she huffed , crossed her hands and cursed under her breaths? I was about to give her a lesson but the door opened and my breathes kind of got caught in my throat.
Ruby stood in front of us yawning in a babydoll nightgown and a loosely tied robe. The dark blue dress hugged her figer accentuating each curve and the robe did very little to nothing at all to hide them. Ruby was a bit on the plus size. She had soft lines instead of well drawn body shape. Her body shaped into a clear hourglass and her hips and breasts filled the dress nicely stealing my attention from whatever both girls were saying. My eyes kept on traveling up and down studying all of her details even the tiniest: how her the dark waves of hair brushed her white skin, how a beauty mark decorated the center of her collar bone , how her eyes fell on Eva and her smile glowed. I was in a trance by a woman who didn't even notice that I was there. She didn't even react to me being there while she was dressed so revealingly.
"You can leave him outside. He is being an idiot." I heard Eva saying loudly as if to bring me out of my frozen state.
"Be nice to your dad , princess. Mr.Gray , do you want to come inside?" The brunette asked forgetting how rude I was to her before. She was even offering me a polite smile making me unconsciously mirror it.
"Sin" was the only word I could utter.
"Sin, would you want to come inside?" Ruby offered again making me grin. My name smoothly left her lips and I actually liked how alluring it felt leaving the mouth of such pure soul.
" Sure..." I approved scratching the back of my neck not knowing how all of this will play out if Ruby doesn't change out of her night dress. Will she accept my advances if I try to kiss her? Is she as easy as all the other girls I had? Will Eva approve of my sudden need to hookup with her newly favorite person?
"Ro, can I have a word with dad, please?" Eva asked as soon as Ruby invited us in.
"Sure, I need to change of my nightgown. I was asleep when you knocked on my door. I will leave you both alone, go change and make us all some hot chocolates, okay? Consider it your home. Eva you already know the house well so If you or your dad need anything , you know your way." Ruby informed walking away and my heart broke a little knowing that this would probably be my last time seeing her dressed in such a way...I was feeling down , yet she didn't even react a little to a strange man seeing her in babydoll dress...I usually make girls blush and flirt so why not this one?
"Really, dad? Sin? You were rude to her , two days ago now you are flirting with her?" Eva lecture as if she was a parent of mine. Another would laugh at such reversal of roles but I am accustomed to it.
"I wasn't flirting." I lied defending myself.
" She had her share of pain so leave her alone. She is not one of your girls. Her fiancé just broke her heart so let her be or else I would run away and you would never find me." Eva threatened for the billionth time but I found myself wanting to know more about Ruby.
"Why would he?" I inquired sitting on the comfortable sofa in front of a huge TV.
" Not my secret to tell." Eva denied sitting by me.
"I will buy you the newest Iphone" I offered but my little girl shook her head in denial.
"What about a trip to Paris Disnay land, this summer?" I tried my luck again only to receive a glare and a short no.
"I will let you pick your next nanny?" I threw my last card yet Eva once again shook her head.
"Tell me her secret and you have all three?" I said promising Eva of all above choices.
" I am infertile. Now you owe her all three options." Those three words echoed making me stiff.
My eyes once again found their way to Ruby; she was standing by the living-room entrance. She changed into a summer dress and styled her hair into a ponytail. Her eyes dimmed as those words left her lips and I saw the slightest tremble of her chin. She is clearly in pain and I , for once, felt guilty for trespassing my limits.
"Ro, I am sorry." Eva rushed to hug Ruby apologizing again and again.
"I am sorry. " I mimicked my girl not knowing what else to do.
"It is okay. I will go make us some hot chocolates. " Ruby replied kissing Eva's forehead before turning her back to us and heading to the kitchen.
"I am gonna pick an old lady for a nanny." Eva threatened and I knew that this was my punishment.
