New room

Mikes POV

It was the next day and I thought I would get up early to surprise El. She was coming home today and I was so excited, I asked Mrs Byers if one night she could stay with me and Mrs Byers said that I could stay over the night. I was so happy that El was finally getting out, I knew although it's been a pretty hurtful summer, I would be able to spend more and more time with El.

I ran down stairs after getting changed into pair of denim shorts and a yellow tee shirt, I quickly packed a bag and ate some eggos.

"Mom can you take me to the hospital? Els coming home today and I just, I wanna be there for her"

"Of course, this is your first girlfriend, oh gosh I have to get my camera and take some -"

"MOM!" I groaned.

"Fine let's go then" I ran outside to the car while I saw my mom sneakily get her camera.

Els POV

"El sweetie, wake up honey" I hear mrs Byers soft voice waking me up.

"Hi" I whispered.

"You can come back home today if you still want to, I've had Jonathan and Will setting up Wills old bedroom for you and you can have it all to yourself." I smiled softly sitting back up in my bed.

"What about will and Jonathan? They can have their own rooms and I can stay on the couch, I don't mind. You're a family I don't wanna intrude."

"Sweetie, you're our family now, you're part of us just like hop would have been, we love you El and we want you with us!" Mrs Byers and I were now both crying. I sniffled and wiped a tear from my face. "Thankyou" I sobbed in her arms, I feel so ... loved!

After a few minutes of crying Mrs Byers helped me into the shower and then the nurse came and replastered my leg so it was all new for when I went home. I was wearing a pair of denim shorts which a black singlet top and one of hops large flannels over the top. I sat up in bed and waited for mike to come while talking Mrs Byers talked to the nurses about the care for my leg.

Mikes POV

"No mum please you don't need to come in" I groaned trying to convince my mom not to come in and see El.

"Micheal either I come now with you or I take you home"

"Fine"

We made our way around the hospital, I'd got pretty good at navigating myself around here since El has been here for a few days and I've been checking up on her quite a lot. I knocked on the door and opened it. My mom talked to Mrs Byers while I went over and hugged El. She was standing up with her crutches under each arm, she looked so beautiful!

"How's you leg? Are you excited to be out today"

"It's still sore but I'm excited to go home... Mrs Byers even gave me my own room, have you seen it yet?" El asked, I dropped over a box of some old tops, posters and toys that she can have in her room since I didn't want them anymore.

"No I haven't seen it yet" I decided to act like I didn't know anything.

"We can see it together then" she sat down on her bed and I sat down next to her waiting until the doctor could come in and say she could go. Mrs Byers and my mom went out to fill it more forms so it was just me and El.

"Have you talked to Max the last few days?" El asked, I think she still blames herself and she really shouldn't.

"Ummm - uh ..... She has been spending time at the Sinclair's house, his parents are really supportive of it all and Max's parents blame Max for it." El looked down and I hugged her close into me. "It's not your fault okay, the mind flair is a sick creature and this is what it does to people, there's no way we could have saved him. But the mind flair is gone now El, he's gone and now we can spend the rest of the summer together, everyday."

I lifted her chin and looked in to her chocolate eyes, she softly placed her lips to mine and I kissed her for a few seconds before pulling her back into a comforting hug. Mrs Byers, my mom and the doctor came in clearing us to go. I helped El up and walked next to her as she hopped out of the room on her crutches. I can't wait to see her reaction when we get home.

"Michael" my mom stopped us as we got to the Byers car. Mrs Byers helped El into the car whilst I walked over to my mom. "I have some rules okay, you can sleep in the same bed with El as long as she's okay with that and you are fully clothed, you have to call me as soon and you wake up and I'll come and pick you up a bit after that, and lastly just be there for her Michael, she needs someone right now!"

"Okay mom I got it, I'll see you tomorrow okay?" I kissed her cheek and ran to the other side of the car where El wasn't and I hopped next to her whilst putting the crutches on the seat beside me. I put an arm around her shoulders and she leant her head onto my shoulder. It was a long and quite let drive to the Byers, I could tell that El was drained as well as Mrs Byers so tonight I'm gonna be there to give them both a break and hopefully they can sleep.

We pulled up outside the Byers house and I jumped out of my side and ran to Els whilst helping her out of the car. "Thanks" she said whilst blushing, "no problem". We walked towards the door of the house. When we went inside I saw El immediately hop over to Wills room, I chuckled before catching up with her.

"I think you're gonna love it sweetie!" Mrs Byers whispered while squeezing her shoulders, El smiled back and crutched in. The room still had Wills old wallpaper on it but it looked amazing. There was an old style dresser like the one she had in the cabin and Jonathan and Nancy collected some belongings from the cabin and placed them around her room, she had her super-com on her bed and there was some of my posters on the wall. She immediately went over and looked at some of the toys that were mine sitting around her room.

"I remember, this, from the basement, and this" she said picking up numerous objects, I chuckled as she looked awe struck picking everything up and taking a close look. My face dropped when I saw her looking over at the toy cat that used to be Sara's that Hop gave to her. Tears formed in her eyes and she hugged Mrs Byers close.

"Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou" she repeated crying in Joyce's arms.

"Oh sweetie you deserve this and so much more!" By now everyone was crying and we all joined eachother in a hug.
