It was a tough day at the Institute and I just got home in the wee hours of the morning. I skipped breakfast, flopped in bed, and my eyes started to close. Suddenly someone knocked, no POUNDED, on my door. I groaned and covered my head with my pillows, but then I heard a voice.
Your voice.
You sounded desperate, almost pleading as you called out my name. My sleepiness disappeared and I got up and opened the door.
"WONPIL! PIL, I NEED - Oh... Did you just get home from classes? I'm sorry I'll just come later, I -, " you stammered and backed out, but how can I ignore you when you looked like your world was ending?
I placed my arm around your shoulder and wiped your tears with the sleeve of my hoodie.
"What happened?"
"It's Sungjin, Pil. We're losing him."
