Weeks passed by as you began to better your friendship with Jean. The both of you butted heads more than you thought you would, and these fights usually ended up in shunning one another for the remainder of the day, or days on end. Fortunately, you always made up, thanks to Marco's grounding presence. He was always there to balance out your large personalities. The relationship you had with Jean was indeed an odd one, and always had people questioning why you were still close.
Truth was, you didn't understand why you kept going back either. Was it because he knew too much about you, or because you were way too fond of him? Regardless, you prized the friendship you had with Jean and Marco.
When things were alright, you and Jean were the most envied alliance at the camp. You were a force to be reckoned with, and were well on your way to the top ten. You had everyone coming for your throats. You and Jean had frequent all-night conversations on your veranda, which you were immensely grateful for.
At the mess hall, you were just finishing up your dinner with Marco when Jean started another fight with Eren. At one point, people stopped caring about Eren and Jean's pointless fights, and didn't bother breaking them apart anymore. So, you decided to take advantage and brighten everyone's spirits.
You jumped from your seat, stood up on top of your table and shouted, "Why don't we settle this Jean-Eren feud once and for all with a civilized fist fight?"
The trainees began to cheer. Marco was unimpressed.
"[Y/N], this isn't a good idea. We could get in trouble!" He muttered, tugging on your shirt.
You ignored him and continued. "Everyone, move the tables to the side!" You announced, hopping off of the table you stood on and walking in between Eren and Jean. The cadets swiftly moved the tables away from the center, creating a makeshift arena. You declared some simple rules. "Once one is unable to fight, the other is victorious, and all this fucking fighting between the both of you stops. Simple as that."
"You're over, Jaeger." Jean spat, handing you his vest and rolling up his sleeves.
"I wouldn't get cocky." Eren noted, getting into a fighting stance.
You backed up and hopped back onto the table. The trainees began chanting fight! over and over, causing a ruckus. The two fighters got ready to pounce. "Begin!"
The crowd roared as Eren swung at his enemy. Jean dodged his blow and sucker punched him.
An idea popped into your head, so you became a reporter. "Whoa! An amazing counter attack by Jeeeeeeaaaaannnn Kirsteeiiinnnnnnn!"
Marco giggled at your goofiness and decided to join in. He climbed onto the table and dictated the fighters' next move.
"Incredible! Eren just kicked Jean to the ground!" Marco announced.
The fight was getting good and the trainees were cheering at an astronomical volume.
Right before you announced the next move, the door blew open and slammed against the wall. You got startled, and flinched at the noise. Marco grabbed your shoulders instinctively, out of fear. The hall went silent and Jean and Eren stopped what they were doing, looking horribly guilty. Commander Shadis angrily marched into the dining hall and examined the tables and fighting pit. His eyes shot to your direction, seeing that you and Marco were literally the highest in the room. Everyone tensed up, preparing their ears for the commander's scolding.
"What the hell is going on in here?" He vociferated. "Who is responsible for this riot?"
Everyone glanced at you and Marco.
