Late! Again (1)

⚡Liam night⚡

Liam used the air to propel him up to the second level. He wondered why the school even needed a stair case. Everyone could just use the air to push themselves up the second and third levels.

Liam looked back down to the ground floor where his friend Mason stood.

He realised why the school had the staircase. It was for the few kids who weren't as confident with their air controlling.

"Come on. We're already late Mason! Just use the moves I showed you" Liam was one of to best at air controlling. He could shoot himself up ten feet high, if he concentrated.

"I can't do it Liam. I'll take the stairs" Mason spoke up to Liam.

" Ugh we don't have time for this"Liam whispered to himself. he pointed his hands down and willed the air to obey him. Liam floated down to Mason and graves his hand.

"Liam! I can get there myself!"

"Hey Kayla's minding us a spot! You want her mad at you be my guest" With that Liam pushed the air under them both in fast movement.

Kayla felt embarrassed. Her friends Were the only kids in the entire school (that's eight hundred in total) that were late for gatherings.

Tevavon heights boarding school. A school for kids like kayla and her friends. A school for kids who could control the air. It wasn't an unusual thing to do but it wasn't exactly common. Only around five to fifteen kids came each year out of the whole of Tevanon.

Tevanon an area perfectly round covering a diameter of around fifty kilometres. That's millions and millions of people.

There uses to be more air controllers back when the kingdom was know as the great air nation of south. But ever since the great divide the kingdom has slowly been deterieting.

Now Kayla was sitting there with two empty seats on either side of her."It was probably fault" she thought to herself. Liam was never good at being good. He wasn't all that great at being on time. And he was always up to something

But it wasn't Completely Liam's fault. He spent most of his life in the poorer parts of Tevanon. First ten years of his life growing up in the Narrows, the crime central of the empire.

Kayla remembered when he first came here four years ago...

💭(Flash back)

It was a cold rainy afternoon. Kayla was reading on her bunk in the girls dorm. The room was the closet to the main entrance hall and had a cozy feel to it.

Kayla wanted to to put down the book they had to read for Anglian and go downstairs and watch some T.V but the book was due to be read by tomorrow.

"Bang, bang, bang!" A noise seemed to be conning from the entrance hall.

The stairs were clod and slippery from all the wet shoes conning in from the rain but no matter kayla slipped her way down.

"Bang, bang, bang!" The front door now face to face with Kayla. "Bang, bang, bang!" Something was on the other side...

She was drawn to the door. Normally in a situation like this you were meant to get a teacher or an adult. Kayla on the other hand, didn't even think! She swung the door open.

A boy in rags covered in mud fell to the floor right in front of Kayla.

"Yeesh!" Squealed Kayla. Why no one had herd the banging and her squealing she didn't know.

"Ahhh" kayla coughed up the word. "Your ahhh kinda-I mean what are you-" the boy did nothing he just lay their unconsciousness. "What am I saying. Come on I've got to get you out of here."

A few failed blows of kayla's recently learnt air controlling later the boy was lying on her bunk, head propped up and a wet cloth on his forehead.

"Blaze.....Blaze!" The boy moaned.

"It's ok I'm here" she grabbed his hand.

He slowly opened his eyes and stared into hers. "Where am I?"

"What'a your name?"

The boy coughed "Liam" He croaked.

Kayla gripped his hand a bit tighter. "Liam. Your safe now. Your safe."

💭(End of flash back)

Every since that day Kayla had a secret crush on him. But she'd never let anyone know.......Ever!

The air around Kayla became filled by two boys. Liam to her right and Mason to her left.

"You both took your time"she whispered to Liam.

"You can thank Mason for that! He wanted to take the stair case"

"Hey I was running until you blasted us both to the moon" Mason chimed in unhappily.

Kayla slapped Liam softly on the arm. "Liam!" She always like Liam's dare devil side even though she was always telling him off for it.

"Maybe this could be the time" Kayla thought. The time to tell Liam she liked him, to ask him to go out with her.

"Liam" Kayla tugged on his greyish school uniform t-shirt.

"Yeah?" He replied.

She took a moment to pull up the courage. "I um....would-"

Trumpet horns sounded indicating that the headmaster was coming and they all had to stand.

Liam leaned over to her "Tell me later"

Her moment was gone
