I want to do it. I want to go on this quest thing." Liam leaned over the desk to Kayla and Mason.

Mason turned his attention away from the board to Liam "You mean that expedition the headmaster told us about yesterday. About going over the wall?"

"Oh no I mean that other expedition that goes over the wall-of corse I mean that expedition!" Liam whisper yelled sarcastically in response.

"Alright alright. I was just getting a few things straight."

"So?" Liam asked Mason.

"So what?" Mason turned back to his work.

"So. Are you in? We should all go together. All three of us"

Kayla put down her pen and turned around to look to where Mason and Liam were sitting. "Why are we even talking about this? It obvious! We shouldn't go!" She seemed final.

Liam was a bit confused. "Why?"

Miss Tarmon turned around " Liam! Kayla! I guess your conversation was so important it couldn't wait till after class?"

Kayla swivelled her chair so that she was facing the teacher. "Oh no miss. We just-" miss Tarmon raised an eyebrow. "Um we just-" Kayla continued but was quickly silenced by the teacher.

"Save it! You can talk about it during detention that you'll be sharing with Mr Night after class!"

Kayla pushed her luck"but Miss Tarmon"

"Miss Mandell! If you would like to be picking up rubbish the rest of the week then please continue." Miss Tarmon stood waiting for an answer.

Kayla looked back down at her work and form what Liam could see her teeth were clenched "sorry Miss Tarmon"

Liam could tell by just looking at her she couldn't go down without a bit of a fight. He liked that about her, it made her seem a little less sensible and little more wild.

Liam realised that he was staring at Kayla and shoved his head down letting little bits of his brown hair fall over eyes.

The tension between Kayla and Liam couldn't have gotten any worse until Mason whispered just loud enough for them to hear "busted!"

Kayla was annoyed at Liam. She knew he knew it but she wanted to get her point across.

Miss Tarmon the worst English teacher in the entire school made them miss out on lunch, just over her talking! Unbelievable.

She didn't even stay. After everybody left she told them two they could come out at half bell then she just....left!

"You still didn't answer my question" Liam sounded a little less angrier than before.

He might feel better but Kayla sure didn't."don't talk to me." She sounded a little more cold than she intended.

"Come on. I'm sorry."

She stayed silent.

"Oh okay. Your giving me the silent treatment now!"

Kayla thought she might say something but she stared at the front of the classroom and held her silence.

"What did I do?! All I wanted to do was was go on the expedition! All I wanted to do is explore the rest of the world! To see what's beyond the other side of that stupid wall!"

Kayla turned around to face him"Why do you need to know?!

"Why not?!"

"Because it dangerous! And Liam, ever since the great divide their has been nothing on the other side of that wall! Nothing!"
