"What are you doing here?" Taehyung asked, resting his weight on the door frame. He seemed rather unimpressed by my arrival.
I shrugged. "I found something I think you might be interested in."
He raised a brow. "Continue."
"Just come over here first, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want Seokjin to see."
As the door was falling shut behind him, I watched Fred get squashed by the falling object, followed by Jungkook who used it as an opportunity to slither into the room.
I grabbed the gold card from my pocket, flashing it in front of his face.
His eyes lit up, lips spreading into a boxy smile."Is that my credit card?"
"Yup, you want it?"
"Gimmie," he demanded, attempting to snatch the card away from me.
"Yeah, no," I muttered, pulling the object of his interest out of reach.
"You know I could blow you up right, a flick of my hand and BOOM human guts everywhere."
"Well, I'm pretty sure Seokjin would be mad if you murdered me before they figure out why I was sent here," I responded, hoping that he didn't see through the guess in my threat. I had no idea if they'd really care if he killed me, but it was worth a shot.
He paled at the mention of the sin of pride, eyes narrowing in disdain. "Fine, there will be no exploding humans today. But maybe that will eat you instead."
A loud roar sounded in my ears and I turned to see a black blur hurtling down the hallway towards us.
A deafening roar left it's mouth, it's fangs bared and poised to strike. I jumped out of the way of the angry creature, feeling fear take over my body.
Why was there a very giant cat trying to eat me?!
"Taehyung what's going on?" I yelled, narrowly missing another strike by the beast.
"Good question," he mused. "Mind passing me my credit card before you become cat food?"
"You're such an ass!" I exclaimed, staring into the glowing yellow eyes in front of me. It's gaze was filled with malicious intent and I felt myself shudder.
"You should see your face," he wheezed. The beast turned its attention away from me at the sound of Taehyung's obnoxious laughter and I internally cheered.
I took the opportunity to look around for anything I could use to subdue the beast, as it would probably lose interest in Taehyung soon enough.
There was a large cradle-like piece of metal fastened around one of the light fixtures and I recalled the muzzle I used to have to put on my aunt's crazy cat.
I unfastened the rope holding the heavy object to the wall, stumbling as it fell into my arms. The cat was now posed and ready to strike the cackling man who seemed oblivious to the creature's intent.
Sometimes I really hate having a conscience. I ran towards the snarling animal throwing my weight forward to jump onto its back.
It let out a hiss of confusion lunging towards Taehyung. I used whatever extra strength I gained from the adrenaline to swing the makeshift muzzle around the felines agape mouth.
It thrashed in my hold and Taehyung finally stopped laughing when he noticed my actions. I attempted to tie the rope into a knot, muscles straining against the strength of the beast.
"Seoyeon!" I heard Jungkook screech, I tried to look up but I was preoccupied in not letting go of the rope.
All of a sudden the struggling underneath me stopped and a docile meow left the cat's mouth. Shocked by the sudden change of events I turned to see that Jungkook had turned into a turtle.
Turtle Jungkook let out a cluck and the cat backed away slowly. I slid off it's back and the muzzle clattered to the ground.
"What is going on here!" A voice boomed. My eyes widened at the sight of Seokjin who practically had steam coming out of his ears as he stormed towards us.
His black eyes were filled with so much rage I almost felt myself tremble.
"Why is there a giant cat in the hallway?" he seethed. Jungkook clucked in response and the angry man's eyes fell upon Taehyung.
"We were in the hallway and then the Cat Sith appeared out of nowhere."
"And Seoyeon's has rope burn and a scratch across her forearm because?"
I glanced down at my arm surprised at the thin line of red on my skin. I must've have cut myself on the cats fangs in my attempt to wrap the muzzle around its mouth.
Taehyung looked down in shame. "The cat may or may not have moved to attack me and Seoyeon, tried to stop it."
I paused taking in his unusual demeanor. He seemed ashamed and defeated. Hahahahaha that's what he gets for laughing at the big ass cat trying to eat me.
"Jungkook you take Seoyeon to have her wound treated, I'll deal with Taehyung and the Cat Sith."
I winced at the sound of cracking bones, averting my gaze at the turtle morphing back into a man.
"C'mon," the green eyed man said, gesturing me down the opposite hallway. I took one last look at crestfallen Taehyung before hurrying after him.
I glanced down at the wound in my arm, finally feeling the subtle burn after the adrenaline had faded.
Junngkook brought me into what appeared to be an infirmary rushing to grab what I assumed was a first aid kit.
"Y'know Sushi wasn't very much help," I mused, peering down at the indifferent amphibian.
"He says he got scared and thought the Cat sith would use him as a slipper," Jungkook muttered, fumbling with the disinfectant.
"I'm sure he did, what even is a Cat sith?"
"It's basically a witch cat that eats souls."
"A what?"
He sighed, "It's a demon from Celtic mythology, they're not too dangerous."
He paused, eyebrows drawing together. "I'm not sure how it made it into the house though, there is a seal that stops lower level demons from entering. The only person I know who had one was Yoongi and he isn't exactly around anymore."
"Yoongi? I questioned, wincing as he applied the antibiotic to my wound.
"Ah, I shouldn't have mentioned anything, he's no one," Jungkook said hurriedly, pressing down on the injury a little too hard.
"Ow and that was super suspicious," I muttered.
He shrugged, becoming less tense. "Well at least I got my STB CD back," he said with a grin, pulling the rectangular case out of his back pocket.
I was amused by the joyful expression on his face at the sight of the game. It made him look less like a brooding whale.
I stuck my index finger out booping his nose.
"You know I could turn into a bear and eat you right," he grumbled, swatting my hand away.
"It's not my fault you look cute."
I stifled a laugh at the sight of his ears becoming flushed.
"I'm just teasing you," I said, smiling as I secured the bandage around my cut.
He let out an uncharacteristic whine and grabbed onto my uninjured arm. "Let's get you back to your room, you're probably tired and I have to go practice for the tournament."
I nodded, bidding him goodbye upon reaching my room. I could feel Fred's beady eyes staring at me and I opened the door in a hurry.
Sushi jumped out of my bag and I followed his gaze to the curtains.
"What are you-"
The curtains were on fire.
