All I can hear is the jingling sounds of the silverware. No one dared to speak in the three of us. I need to find out if it's really true that my Mom has a third eye and can see Rose. It really bothers me, big time!
I'm afraid to be caught? No, that's a lame excuse. I'm worried I might break her into tears. I'm worried I might disappoint her.
Rose is sitting beside me, gawking us to eat while watching on the TV. In front of her is my Mom, and beside Mom, Dad is in front of me. Mom doesn't seem unusual or uncomfortable.
"Newsflash: Detective Lilia Adair confirms the lowering rate of crimes in the city and the high rate of immoral killings are caused by an alive anonymous person."
"Whoever that person is, he or she doesn't have a conscience," Mom muttered.
I gulped in anxiety.
"Thanks to him or her, it lowered the crime rate in our town," Dad argued and stopped for a while but then recovered immediately.
"Honey!" Mom hissed at him. She slaps him on his shoulder.
I smiled in my head. If only they know who's behind those heroic acts.
"Yes, it involves taking away existence. However, if you think about it, the killer is doing pretty well. Criminals keep killing people. Therefore the return must be their lives, too." Dad shrugged.
I just want to tell my Dad, 'Hey Dad, it's me. I did all of those. Aren't you proud?' But it is not that easy. I might break their expectations. I heard Rose laughs beside me, and I frowned.
"So the murderer must kill himself too?" Mom asked sarcastically.
"No, but maybe he's a God." Dad joked.
A God, huh?
"Just in: The population in our community agrees to continue killing the criminals to lower the crime-rate in our city. Let us hear some of their judgments."
"I am thankful someone is there to kill the criminals. They deserved it!" Said the woman on the TV.
"I want to avenge my daughter, but the police won't make any move. Whoever you are, thank you for killing the man who raped my daughter!" Said the man. So he is the father of that 13-year-old child?
"Police are the terrorists!"
"People are now brainwashed by that murderer, huh? How sickening!" Mom commented.
"What does it feels like to be a God, Auroral?" Rose whispered seductively.
I gave her a glare. 'Don't make me do things I must not do!' I thought. She laughed, reading my thoughts. I know she can read my mind. If I can't talk to her with people around me, at least I can reply to her through the wave of my thoughts.
"People are starting to worship you, honey." She mumbled, still with that seductive voice. I just ignored her mumbling.
"Mom, Dad, I'm full," I said and directly go up to my room.
"Going to sleep now?" Mom asked. I nodded and acted as if I am getting dizzy. "Rest well, baby," Dad said. I gave them kisses on their cheeks and went upstairs.
I instantly locked my door and gave Rose a glare. "What the hell are you saying, huh?" I whizzed.
"Aahh~ can you just be thankful that humans are now at your side?" She taunted.
"I'm happy with it, but I will not involve innocent people!" I exclaimed.
"Then I'll ask you another question..." She left her statements hanging. Where the hell is she? I roam my eyes around every corner of my room. "Boo!" She surprised.
