I have always thought I will always love you.
It has been a long time
But no, just the memories of you.
We talked; we sat on a wooden caramel rugged bench
And we enjoyed each other's company
And conversed for what seemed like an hours
How life has been over the years
How you got your dream job
And how you still like visiting your favorite bookstore
No matter how far it was.
And you still remember the old lady's name
who used to scold us to turn our music down
when we're dancing to salsa music
And we'd apologize, turned it off,
but still it didn't stop us from dancing
And you still remember what that meant to us.
We always thought we will marry each other.
We always thought that we will be each other's person.
But there are just some things that are not meant to be
