An Unknown Love

Cuz it's my Birthday

As we walked down the stairs to my kitchen, Avi dropped my hand. "What's wrong?" I asked him.

"Nothing, I think we should just surprise them tonight." Avi said. He had a mischievous look in his eye, and a small smile played around the corners of his lips. He probably wants Esther there when he makes the announcement. I thought and smiled up at him. He really is good-looking. Why hadn't I noticed it before?

 "Okay, tonight it is." we then separated a little ways, and he waited about a minute to come down after I did. "Heeeyyy I'm baackk!!! Is that peanut butter hot chocolate?!?!?!" I squealed with excitement. It is the most amazing thing besides Nutella.

"Of course!! Why wouldn't it be, its your birthdayy!!!!" Mitch sang the last part in his falsetto voice. I laughed and looked around at everyone.

"Hey, where's Avi?" I pretended innocence of the whereabouts of him.

"Right behind you! Turn around birthday girl!" I did as he said, turning around to be met with the most amazing looking pile of waffles and bacon. I almost started drooling right then and there. But, with Avi being my boyfriend (it's amazing I can call him that) I refrained and calmly took the plate from him.

"This looks delicious!" I sat down and began to eat, watching my manners a little more carefully than I would have if Avi wasn't there. "OMG this is amazing!"

We all shared a laugh and after breakfast was over I was told to get changed into something decent. "What for?" I was very curious.

"Your birthday celebration of course!!" Mitch exclaimed while clapping his hands like a little girl. I sighed and ran up to my room to get changed. I began to sift through the closet looking for something to wear. My eyes fell on a green dress I haven't worn in a long time.

Perfect! I thought to myself as I pulled it out of the closet and onto the bed. I began to find shoes. Should I go for sandals, flats, boots, or heels? Mitch only said decent, so I settled on a pair of light brown booties that complemented my dress perfectly. I also found a gold necklace with a little rose pendant and matching earrings. Then, I went to my bathroom and plugged in my curling iron in to let it heat up while I changed. I began to curl my hair, but wasn't paying attention and accidentally burned my neck. This looks like a hickey! I wondered what everyone will think especially after Avi and I tell them.

I finished curling my hair and moved onto makeup, doing my signature cateye and actually doing it almost perfect on both sides for once! Finished, I walked out of my room, only to be met with Scott and Mitch passionately making out in the hallway. Shocked, I didn't find speech for a few moments. I mean, we are best friends!! Why hadn't they told me? Or maybe this is the first time, and they haven't had a chance to tell anyone, but still. I cleared my throat and coughed a little, making Scott and Mitch jump apart and blush as red as a tomato.

"Guys, making out is cool and all, just not in the middle of my freaking hallway. Get a room!" I laughed when I saw relief wash over their faces.

"You...You aren't mad?" Scott asked. He looked kind of scared.

"Well it depends, how long has it been going on?" If it was like since Mitch and Travis broke up, then I would get mad.

"Um since last night actually. We were going to tell you and the rest of Pentatonix tonight as part of your birthday present." He chuckled kind of nervously.

"Okay then no, I'm not mad. If it had been like over a month, then I would be mad. I'm really happy for you guys actually!" I smiled at them and told them we should get going if we were going to meet Esther for lunch. We happily skipped out the door to the car, where Avi and Kevin were waiting for us.

"Finally gosh what took you guys so long?" Kevin and Avi both looked impatient and the rest of us just laughed.

"We were talking about the plan for tonight that's all!" The trio of queens looked at each other and shared a knowing smile. We all got in the car and the order was Avi, Scott, and me, while Mitch took the front seat and Kevin drove. Avi looked past Scott at me and looked somewhat hurt, so I texted him.

K: we cant make it obvious!!

A:still u couldnt sit by me? :(

K: YOU* and on the way back okay? :)

A:Fineeee :)

"Who are you texting?" Scott asked, peering over my shoulder.

"No one! Just a couple people wishing me happy birthday that's all!" I quickly turned my screen off so he couldn't see Avi's contact name at the top of our messages. I looked at him and asked where we were going first.

"I was thinking Urban Outfitters first, then American Apparel." He said excitedly. 

"Yess and Starbucks?"

"Of course, why wouldn't we?" I smiled at him and suddenly I heard Kevin and Mitch screaming. Worried we all leaned forward and asked what was wrong.

"NOTHING CUZ WE ARE ON THE RADIO!!!" Mitch squealed then turned up the volume as we heard Daft Punk playing. Everyone began to cheer and then sing along as we continued to drive towards the restaurant we were meeting Esther at. Looking around, I can't help but laugh as I realize how much I love my friends.

Later that night

"Everyone listen up!" Mitch announced, tapping his spoon on his glass "We are gathered here today to celebrate the special occasion of Kirsten Taylor Maldonado's 22nd birthday, and I propose a toast. To Kirstie!"

"To Kirstie" echoed around the room. I glanced over at Avi, who nodded. Standing up, I cleared my throat a little and gained the attention of everyone in the room, which was Pentatonix and a few close friends. I swallowed, somewhat nervous.

"Hello everyone, and thanks for coming to my party tonight, I had a wonderful day and I'm glad I spent it with you guys!" I smiled, and then steeled myself."I do have an announcement I would like to make, and its still fairly new to the both of us, but I am pleased to announce that Avi and I are dating!"

"OMG CONGRATULATIONS!!!" shouted Mitch, coming over and encasing me in a hug. Everyone else looked a little shocked, but then began to congratulate us as well. I smiled and looked at Mitch and Scott pointedly, and they nodded back. Stepping back, I walked over to Avi who kissed me and wrapped his arm around my waist. I smiled at him when he looked at me, confused.

Scott started,"Hey everyone, happy birthday to my amazing, gorgeous, talented best friend, andmeandmitcharedating."

"Wait what?"

"Mitch and I are dating." Scott said more slowly. Everyone was quick to congratulate them on FINALLY getting together. Stifling a yawn, I glanced over at Esther, who was smiling and looked at me warmly, and I knew she was okay with it.

"Okayy birthday girl, looks like your'e tired off to bed!"

"I'm really not tha-" I tried protesting, but Avi ha me over his shoulder and was carrying me towards my room

"Nope bedtime!" He started laughing and threw me down on my bed. And walked out. No kiss goodnight? What?

"Avi?"I looked at him as he turned around with big puppy dog eyes.

"Just wait a second!"

so I sat there and when he came back, he had a dozen red roses and a teddy bear holding chocolate.

"Awwhh Avi, this is amazing!" I kissed him and he kissed me back, and soon we were in an intense make out session. I wasn't ready for anything more, and Avi seemed to sense that, and after a little he pulled away.

"Goodnight my princess!" He smiled and gently closed the door.  I fell asleep holding the bear, relieved of its chocolate, and with a smile on my face.
