6 Months later

"Baaaaaabbbbbeee!!!!!!!!!" I was awoken by loud yelling, compliments of my boyfriend.

"Whaaaat? Let me sleeeeeppp!!" I had gotten in late last night from visiting home and I needed to recover before rehearsal today. "This better be good," I grumbled, before rolling out of bed and pulling a robe on over my pajamas. Walking down to the kitchen where Avi was sitting with his back turned, I began to sneak up on him when suddenly I tripped over something fluffy. I nearly screamed when it barked. "You got me a Husky? Best boyfriend EVER!"

Avi chuckled, standing and walking over, gave me a quick kiss before crouching down and petting the dog. "His name is Olaf, if you are wondering, and yes I did, and yes, I am the best boyfriend ever." Rising up, he walked back into the kitchen and returned with a bowl of oatmeal topped with blueberries and peaches drizzled with maple syrup. This is exactly what I need to start the day off!

"So what is Olaf's story?" I asked Avi while consuming the bowl of quite delicious oatmeal.

"I was walking around the city yesterday, missing my better half, that is you by the way," I smiled as he spoke, "when I wandered past the animal shelter, and Olaf was sitting there, with his head cocked to the side just like so," Avi demonstrated as he described,"with his tongue flopping out the side, and yipped at me. Not really a bark, not really a yelp, just a little yip saying 'Hey look at me!' So naturally I just had to stop and say hello, and somehow, I'm not quite sure how, he ended up in our house." He laughed and kissed the top of my head before asking," You are okay with it, right?"

"Of course I'm okay with it!" I patted the top of Olaf's head before straightening up and took care of morning dishes. Avi, it seemed, had already eaten. "Are we going to do something before rehearsal, or are we just going to chill out here with our best friend Netflix until rehearsal?"

"Netflix is calling my name i think," Avi turned on the T.V.,"but not your cheesy romance films!"

"Excuse moi, those are the best. You just can't admit it because you're a guy!" I plopped down beside him, shedding my robe so I was more comfortable.

"Insidious, Footloose, or-"

"Which Footloose?"

"The original."

"That one!" I snuggled onto Avi's chest before he had a chance to press play. We had only watched her dive into the truck after church before we were interrupted by a frantic pounding at the door.  I threw open the door to find Mitch, with tears staining his face. "Queen what happened!" I exclaimed.

"Sc-Scott-tt cheat-cheated on m-m-me!" he managed to get this statement out before collapsing into my arms. I glanced over at Avi, who had a worried look on his face. He looks so cute when his face is all scrunched up and his eyes are all stormy- WAIT I'm getting distracted. Focus! I silently berated myself. Half carrying, half walking, we managed to seat Mitch on the couch. Casting a meaningful look at Avi, he nodded and walked toward the kitchen, where I heard the freezer door open. Good, he knew what I meant!

I stared at Mitch for a while, trying to figure out a plan. There was only 2 hours left until rehearsal. "Do you want to talk about it?" He nodded, silently accepting the pint of ice cream from Avi. I could tell he was uncomfortable and wasn't sure what to do, so I saved him by telling him to take Olaf for a walk. Gratitude flashed in his eyes as he hurried out the door, Olaf close on his heels. "So, what exactly happened?"

"I was walking out of the elevator when I turned the corner and saw HIM," he spat this word out as if it were poison," walking out of our apartment. Scott was-"

"Wait, him as in Chris?" Mitch nodded, tears brimming in his eyes, threatening to spill out at any second. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure I would recognize my own ex-boyfriend, especially THAT one." Mitch's eyes turned dark. "Anyways, Scott was smoothing out his hair, the same way he does after every make out session! I realized I didn't want the demon spawn to see me so I turned back in the elevator, and ran here, I didn't know where else to go. Sorry for dumping on you." He turned his eyes downward, as if he was ashamed.

"I am your best friend. Don't ever be sorry for unloading on me, That is what I'm here for! And to give you ice cream and Starbucks. So we know for sure it was Chris, but how do you know anything actually happened? Scott probably does that hair thing often. Watch him at rehearsal to see." Mitch's face paled when I mentioned rehearsal.

"Oh no!" he wailed, "I still have to suffer through rehearsal!"

"I'm sorry but yes you do, and we should actually be leaving soon so we arent late. Let's get you cleaned up, I'll change and call Avi, and then we'll go, okay?"
