Part 33: Liam's POV

I was stunned by Niall. I was stunned that other than my boys, there was someone else who cared about me, enough to fight for me. My heart swelled and my eyes were just brimming. The words were not just coming out and I was on the cusp of crying. It sounds so very melodramatic but trust me, the feeling was alien, new, exciting and yet so heart-warming, I was speechless.

Then, he kissed me. That sparked a new wave of emotions in me. I caught him looking at me with this soft look and eyes full of worry. My hand just automatically went and caressed his face. I really wanted to speak but knew my shaking voice would fail me.

"Finally, huh, you stopped taking words out of my mouth?" Niall snickered. That broke the ice. I laughed and my tears just fell. Niall very gently wiped away my tears and just kissed me on my nose one more time. He tugged at my hands and we went into the café. He picked a booth seat right at the back and went off to order for us. I sat down, trying to calm myself down and just looked at my hands for a bit.

N: "Are you ok?

I nodded. I was. I was just stunned.

N: "You seem awfully quiet. I am sorry if kissing you is something you are not comfortable with in public"

I shook my head and cleared my throat. "It's not that. It's just that, other than my boys, there was someone else who cared about me, enough to fight for me. My heart swelled at that point... I.. I... this feeling is alien, new, exciting and yet so heart-warming... I.. I"

Niall grabbed my hands and kissed them gently.

"I like you Liam. I know I do. How much I am not sure. But enough to fight for you, protect you, look after you and be independent whilst awaiting you. I like you enough to know I want to be with you, even though I have never dated another guy. I like you enough to know that despite not believing in love at first sight or whatever, I still like you. And I like you enough to know that I want to give this a shot. I am sorry to have been an idiot but that is what idiots do right, when they like someone? You do not have to like me very much. Just keep, keep your heart open for me, will you?".
