The record sounds turn into static fading out from the last track as Brian and I shoot up straight and Brian takes hold of Pinny in his hands in some sort of protection and sits on the edge in front of me as the door squeaks open, revealing Chrissie.

My body grows tense, seeing her face fall seeing me behind Brian sitting on their bed. She shouldn't suspect anything, right? We're fully clothed and with a hedgehog in the picture.

It's weird looking at her now, especially after all the things Brian has said, and all the things Brian and I talked about. She must not have any clue about anything Brian is feeling. He said there was no structure, and I know how that feels. Unless she does know it and doesn't want to let go of the idea of him. Maybe that's how Brian feels, maybe he likes the idea of a woman such as herself. Maybe that's why I'm on the side. A backup possibly.

She is frozen in the doorway, and after a few exchanging looks, she clears her throat. "Bri, I thought you had class around now."

"Change of plans," he says calmly, "Remember Roger? We were just listening to some vinyl and talking."

I wave shyly, focusing my eyes on Pinny now resting in Brian's lap. But Chrissie only raises an eyebrow before actually waving slowly back, an awkward smile on her face before she glares back at Bri. She looks so full of anger, and every couple of times I've seen her it's been this way. Maybe it's only when I'm here.
Brian lifts Pinny in his hands now and strokes his back, his voice sounding so relaxed he says, "Why? Had something planned for if I wasn't here?"

She rolls her eyes, now dropping her purse by the door. Shotting one final glance at me before giving Brian this look with her head pointed downward and just with that, she turns around and walks back out into the hall.

I am lost for words, not having a clue what it was about. Unless maybe she has some sort of clue... but wouldn't she have confronted us?
"She's as... lovely as ever."

Brian laughs a little but sighs and stands up walking over to the hedgehog home and putting Pinny inside, "I'm sorry about that. She doesn't really like guests."

I stand up after him, walking toward the back of his figure. "No, no. I can tell I'm her new favorite person."

He shuts the cage securely, chuckling them turning around to eye me closely. I can basically taste the blood from my lip as Brian stares me down. Chrissie has left my mind, but not completely despite my annoyance. She seems to have moved on from Brian's mind as well.

His fingers gently roam along with the cloth of my arm, oh- so delicately making my hairs stand on the back of my neck. Him being so close that our torsos almost touch doesn't make me nervous anymore. Maybe a few weeks ago, maybe even a day ago. Or even earlier.
Even then there was still very little fluttery there but right now I just feel so loved and vulnerable available.

His hand reaches my face and he rubs his thumb over the bump of skin underneath my eye. The bags possibly, crying so hard last night. He sighs though, watching my smile fade slowly. "I was going to ask if you needed a ride back to Freddie's place but I forgot you drove down here."

"Oh, you're kicking me out? I thought you liked me."

He raises an eyebrow after smirking a bit, but then his body falls lower at it's slightest and I watch as he leans in to deepen another slow kiss against my lips and then pulls away soon after. His hot breath against my bitten lips, he whispers, "Just call or text me again if you feel like shit... you don't have to go through it alone, okay?"
