My hands rub repetitively over the silk of the black hoodie I brought, still with the thought that I should have probably come a little later.
It feels earlier than the real meeting time, but getting out of that place was the first thing that came to mind. It was so empty and so dull, even having the company of 10 cats.
The park looks completely empty too but instead of being dull, it's giving off a feeling of calmness and security. There are no clouds covering the moon tonight as I stare up at the full. It's rare for me to see it like this as whenever I look something's covering it up. And I would get so damned frustrated as that would be the only thing I would look forward to going home some nights.
But then things got worse with Cory, and I ended up completely getting it out of my head and I forgot about it. Up until now at least. I bet Brian could enlighten me with facts about the full moon just tonight on its own.
Truth is, I couldn't care less about what goes on in space.
But hearing Brian ramble on and on has its perks to it, it is like a passion, and all the time he starts up again and always finds a way to bring something up about rockets or the solar system.
Things seem to be looking well for him.I fiddle with the stem of the hyacinth between my fingers, ridging and messing it up as they become a little sticky with residue, and I groan to myself in annoyance but I still watch the moon and lean against the front fence entry to the park.
"Are you enjoying the view?"
Before even having to look down, I smile a bit but keep my eyes glued on the light once heating Brian's voice coming closer. I clear my throat gently, making the darker outlines I see on the moon turn into a face in my head, "It looks like she's having fun up there- Just shining and showing off how beautiful she is."
I now hold the hyacinth behind my back, not exactly ready to give it to him yet. It's really just my instinct waiting for the right timing... to attempt to be charming.
The only thing is that I have to step up my charm, as Brian is literally the epitome of a charming man. He's just had good experiences with it is all, I'm sure.
Brian'svoice is now up close, so close causing a melting feeling to my entire body. "She has one hell of an ego, doesn't she?"
Finally glancing back down to earth into Brian's eyes and staring at the small wrinkles in the corners of them and already I smirk lightly and click my tongue against the roof of my mouth, not knowing what to say. And if he wants to start off the conversation, then again, I don't know how serious he wants me to be.
He takes a step closer though, and maybe just a few of my worries disappear right as he is moving his hand slightly behind me and I am forced to move the flower more to the side behind my back as much as possible.
He chuckles softly, "Since when do you come earlier than me?"
Hearing his innuendo, I raise my brows ready to make fun of him and I open my mouth but then almost immediately Brian adds on, "-to meetups, you dirty-minded bastard."
We both then graciously giggle quietly together, the instinct as the park is empty and there's only the sound of crickets chirping along with the wind swaying some tree leaves about. Also, a few annoying cars driving by on the main road in front. Listening to his little laughs, I stay in place allowing him to wrap his long arms around my body from the inside of my arms and his curls fall into my face but I don't think I mind that.
