Percy sighed. The past few days kept getting more and more hectic. He had left Valhalla yesterday. His friends had told him to take a break and lead the warriors. Percy being the obstinate idiot refused to acknowledge the fact that he needed a break. But everyone had their limits. Percy was close to his. His friends had spent the past hour trying to convince him to take a break. Finally he relented. He stood up and snapped his fingers, and he was dressed in the warriors uniform.
He teleported to the warrior camp. Sophia and Zoë walked up to him. "So, finally decided to take a break?" Zoë said. Percy nodded. "Okay now we have a job to do. Hunting down monsters is the hunters job. We merely serve as backup in hunting monsters. Things are not getting out of hand. Our job is to rescue demigods and keep the mortals in line. This includes punishing criminals for their crimes. We have to deal with a criminal in St.Louis. He has murdered ten innocents. He is hidden from the eyes of the police." Percy said.
The warriors immediately broke camp. The camp was basically a bunch of wooden shelters whipped up in fifteen minutes. The process of breaking camp included putting out the campfire, scattering the wood used to make shelters, covering the campfire pit filled with ash with soil and adding a layer of leaves over it and then getting rid of any traces of magic left by the warriors. The warriors took care to conceal their aura while moving. They moved fast by jumping from treetop to treetop. This made sure the warriors could leave no trace of their arrival.
Percy enjoyed the feeling of the wind hitting him on the face for the first time in months. This set him smiling. While he may be a son of the sea, he still was a human, well half human but that's not the point. Percy had felt the thrill of this after a long time. Sure Aiga was fun, but it lacked the thrill of the great outdoors. Soon Percy and the warriors reached the city of St.Louis.
"Now listen up. We have to catch a criminal who has managed to evade the police. While the criminal may not be very strong compared to us, he is definitely not one to be underestimated. Be careful. The titans had used mortals in the titanomachy." Warned Percy. The warriors nodded. They walked toward the city. Percy pulled out a photo of the man and showed it to the warriors. The warriors spread out and then began tracking the man. After a few minutes of searching, Percy found the man.
Percy was scouring the city when a horrible smell hit him. Percy recognised that smell. He had nicknamed his moronic stepfather 'Smelly Gabe' for a reason. Percy immediately walked to the source of the smell. A seemingly normal apartment block happened to be the source of the stench. Percy rang the doorbell. No one opened the door. Percy got annoyed. He walked back away from the door and then ran forward and slammed into the door. He was a god so the impact did little to hurt him. The door was broken to pieces.
Immediately three men ran into the room. Pointing their guns at Percy they shouted, "Freeze!" Percy stared at them unimpressed. He ran toward them and ripped the guns out of their hand and pointed them at the two men. To them it looked like Percy had vanished and reappeared and ripped their guns out of their hand. Percy moved swiftly and knocked the men out. Percy then smashed his way to the bedroom. What he saw made his blood run cold.
The man he was hunting down, stood over a little girl with a knife at her throat.. Percy lunged forward and slammed into the mass murderer and in one swift movement snapped his neck. He turned to the girl. She pulled a knife out of a hidden sheath in her jacket and held it in a defensive position. Percy could tell she could not wield the knife very well. Percy looked at the knife. His eyes widened. Hestia had approached Percy and asked him to find and rescue a demigod. She had given him a knife. The knife was identical to the one the demigod had. Hestia said the girl's godly parent had given her the knife saying she could trust the man with an identical one.
Percy pulled out the dagger Hestia had given him. The girl's eyes widened. She lowered the knife and sheathed it. "You are a demigod." Percy said bluntly. The twelve year old rolled her eyes. "I already know that. Mom told me that when she gave me this knife. Annoyingly enough it can't hurt wolves and humans." She said. "That is because the knife is celestial bronze. It can hurt monsters. Werewolves and humans cannot be hurt by them. You are a demigod so the knife can hurt you. What's your name?" Percy asked. "Andromeda." The girl said.
Percy smiled. "You have three options now. You can go to the demigod camp, or you can join the hunters of Artemis, or you can join a group named the Warriors of the Hearth. Their job is to maintain peace and rescue demigods like you" Percy said. "I will join the Warriors of the Hearth. What is your name?" Andromeda asked. "Percy." Andromeda's jaw dropped. She suddenly grinned. "Thanks for the rescue brother." She said. Percy did a double take. "Wait a minute, you are a daughter of Poseidon?" He said. "Yeah. Me and mom happen to be stuck in the lotus hotel. Took a while to adjust." She said smiling.
Percy pulled his sister up. He grinned. "I won't tell the warriors about you now. I will take you to meet a friend." He said. Percy wrote a message to Sophia and delivered it to her with a snap of his finger. He then turned to his sister. "I think it's time for you to meet grandma." He said. In a spray of mist the two vanished. Back in her cottage in Turkey Rhea was enjoying watching her lion play. Her pet got bored and walked into the forest to hunt.
Suddenly her grandson appeared with a twelve year old girl. "Hello Percy." Rhea said. "Hello grandmother." He replied. "Hello grandma." The girl said. Rhea's eyes widened. The two gave their grandmother an explanation. The three talked for a while. "See you later." Percy said. He and Andromeda vanished. They reappeared in Aiga. Percy showed his sister around. After some time Andromeda was tired. Percy took her to the patch of kelp he used to sleep on while he was in Camp Fish-Blood. He and his sister slept peacefully.
