The days following the first game were pretty much just your cabin and Chanyeol's cabin going back and forth playing pranks on each other. It was extremely juvenile, but it was too fun to think about quitting.
Chanyeol struck back from the scented water bucket with some fake cockroaches his boys made out of construction paper and straws. They'd all been rolling on the ground outside your cabin as you and your girls were shrieking your heads off.
And then you retaliated by pouring cooking oil on his cabin's front porch. Your stomach hurt from laughing so much as you watched him and the boys slip-sliding all over, grabbing onto each other to try and stay on their feet.
You'd then walked into your cabin one evening after dinner to find all your blankets had been stolen. It had taken you and your girls at least half an hour to find them folded up in the boy's changing room by the pool.
Since Chanyeol had decided to invade your privacy by breaking into your cabin, you'd responded right back by going in and spraying shaving cream underneath all their pillows.
As you walked with your campers to the mess hall for dinner one evening, you were contemplating what the boys could do next, trying to anticipate their next move. You thought you heard one of your girls say something along the lines of "Maybe we should just stop, we're spending a lot of time thinking about this when we could be doing fun stuff..." But you hoped you were just hearing incorrectly. Because you were having fun!
...Right?
You tried to avoid Chanyeol's gaze as you sat down to eat, and you honestly found yourself thinking about what your camper had said. Maybe she'd just been hangry and didn't really mean it. And nobody else agreed with her, so it was probably just a case of her not thinking before she spoke.
Your thoughts were interrupted by one of your girls suddenly letting out a shriek. You jumped in your seat, your head snapping over to see what was going on.
"He just threw some beans at me!" Layla cried.
But before you could say anything, Eunice shrieked and exclaimed she'd been hit with mashed potatoes.
It only took what seemed like a few seconds for the bombardment of food to fill the air. You sprang from your seat, bringing your arms up to deflect a roll whizzing through the air toward you.
You wanted to try to put a stop to it, but... honestly, it was too late now.
So you simply joined in, grabbing whatever food you could get your hands on and launching it toward the boys - specifically Chanyeol.
A shrill whistle pierced the room after less than a minute (though it seemed like you'd been engaged in combat for days), forcing everyone to freeze instinctively.
"What is going on?!"
Your heart stopped at the sound of the camp director's voice, and you immediately dropped the roll in your hand, your gaze shifting guiltily down to the floor.
"Chanyeol, Y/N," she snapped. "My office. Now. Campers, clean this up this instant."
You silently followed the director to her office, reaching up to wipe some ketchup from your cheek.
"I was willing to overlook all the childish pranks you were pulling on each other," she began after shutting her office door behind her. Her voice was low and soft, and you could tell she was pretty angry.
You felt terrible.
"But this has taken it too far. You two are adults. You should be trying to be role models for your campers, not leading them in these juvenile acts of petty revenge. What were you thinking?!"
