The last several days of camp consisted of you having as much fun as possible with your girls during the day and sneakily spending time with, cuddling, and kissing Chanyeol in the counselor's lounge at night.

Chanyeol had been correct about getting your privileges reinstated, and both of your cabins had already done archery and gone water-skiing - twice. You were actually not too thrilled with your curfew pushing back to its original time, though, because it meant you had to wait an extra hour to see (*ahem* kiss *ahem*) Chanyeol.

But your campers were more important than him for the time being, so you didn't complain.

Out loud.

To anyone but Chanyeol.

On the penultimate day of camp, the directors announced the final game would take place tomorrow afternoon between lunch and dinner. Each age group would participate in a relay race complete with an obstacle course.

You weren't going to lie; it made you a little nervous. There were quite a few girls in your cabin who weren't as athletic, and they loudly voiced their discontent and anxiety about doing well enough to actually win.

"Listen," you said during your circle time after dinner that evening. "At this point... as much as I would love – really love – to have that pizza party... I don't want to make winning the competition the most important thing."

All ten girls nodded in agreement, and your lips pulled into a soft grin.

"The most important thing is we had fun and we made friends. Right?"

"Right," they assented.

"So at that relay race tomorrow, we're not going to worry too much about winning. We'll just try our best. If we win, great! If we don't... it's not the end of the world. I hope you won't be too disappointed because... I won't be."

Oh, great. You could already feel the lump of emotion forming in your throat.

"I am more proud of you guys than I've ever been of any campers I've ever had. I have truly loved being your counselor, but I don't even feel like saying I'm your counselor is enough. You guys have become my friends. You make me laugh, you make me think, you push me out of my comfort zone to become a better person. And I'm really, really thankful I was given the opportunity to know you guys."

By the end of this little speech, there wasn't a dry eye in the room. Not even yours.

All eleven of you gathered in the middle of the room for a group hug, and every single one of the girls thanked you for being the "best counselor - no, best friend ever."

Honestly, if Chanyeol had walked in right now for some reason, he probably would've laughed at you. You were all being such stereotypical girls right now, but you really didn't care.

Every young girl deserves to feel loved and respected!

But, I digress.

The last full day of camp was very bittersweet. You were pretty despondent about the fact camp was basically over, but you were excited for the last game (and you were excited to get to spend time with Chanyeol outside of camp. You wanted to get dressed up and put on some makeup for a real date which didn't take place in the woods).

You spent most of the day doing all of your girls' favorite activities and trying not to stress too much about the relay race.

You would be lying if you said you weren't craving pizza, but... you tried not to think about it.

A bit surprisingly, Chanyeol and his boys decided to sit at your table at lunch, announcing it was the last act of friendship before the race. Chanyeol sat directly next to you, of course, and he even snuck in some knee squeezes under the table.
