By the time you'd finished making your tea, you'd calmed down just a little bit. Chanyeol had left the kitchen, allowing you some time to compose yourself... But when you pushed through the door back into the lounge, he was still there.

You didn't want to be rude, of course, so you sat down next to him just like you had last night, setting your mug on the coffee table.

"I actually had a lot of fun today," Chanyeol admitted as he draped an arm along the back of the sofa. "You're really good with the kids, and you're a lot nicer than I thought you were."

You sputtered out a laugh, turning to look at him with a quirked brow. "You thought I was mean?"

"Well, not mean, just... I don't know. You never talked to me, so I figured you were... a little... unfriendly?"

You were about to retort with some snarky but teasing comment, but you realized you had no right to be upset. Because your opinion of him hadn't been great, either.

"To be honest, I always thought you were kind of arrogant, so that's why I never talked to you."

"Arrogant?" he laughed.

"Just the way you carry yourself! But you're obviously not like that, so... I apologize for being judgmental."

"Hey, apology accepted as long as you accept mine."

"Of course," you grinned.

As you sipped at your tea, the conversation went down the 'getting to know you' path. You two talked about your lives back home, your families, your likes and dislikes... This started a talk about music, movies, and books, and you found you two had basically the same taste. Chanyeol also informed you he could play the guitar, and you almost admitted to him you'd always had a thing for guys who could play instruments.

The conversation then somehow ended up turning into one about politics and conspiracy theories and really deep life issues (don't ask how - nobody ever really knows how those talks begin), and before you knew it... it was almost midnight.

"Oh, shit," Chanyeol chuckled when he saw the time on his phone. "We need to get back to our cabins."

"I highly doubt we're allowed to be out this late... I won't tell if you don't," you said as you headed back into the kitchen to put your mug in the dishwasher.

"Tell what?"

"Exactly."

"I really enjoyed talking to you, by the way," Chanyeol murmured, leaning against the counter as you closed the door to the dishwasher.

You glanced over at him, your heart beginning to race at the way he was looking at you. The corners of his lips were slightly, softly pulled into a smile. His eyes were basically gazing into your soul. His body was angled toward you, and his one hand resting on the counter was practically inviting you in for a hug.

"M-me, too," you stammered, shifting your eyes all around the kitchen. You felt far too awkward to make eye contact with him at the moment.

"Come on, let's go." He held out his other arm for you, allowing you to go ahead of him out the door.

All the outside lights had been turned off, so it was basically pitch black outside. You hesitated in your steps once you left the main building, and your hand instinctively reached out to grab Chanyeol's arm.

"Whoa," he muttered. "Apparently, I've never been out this late before."

"Yeah, same," you chuckled nervously. You knew you should probably let go of his arm, but... you were honestly kind of scared, so you didn't want to. And it's not like he was pulling away from you.
