You had been wondering earlier if he would try to kiss you, and now you had your answer.

But instead of answering him verbally, you simply lifted your hand up to cradle his cheek and leaned in to press your lips to his.

Lord knows where that bout of courage came from, but... oh, well!

He smiled into the kiss, and you felt one hand lightly wrap around your wrist while the other came to rest on your knee. You didn't kiss for very long, though, because... I mean, it was your first. It was short and sweet.

But when you pulled away, Chanyeol swept back in for another, muffling your giggles as he kissed you about three more times.

"This is crazy," you whispered, shaking your head when his kisses ceased.

"Why?" he murmured, lifting his hand from your knee and bringing it up to tuck some hair behind your ear.

"Because! Two days ago, we were literally throwing food at each other."

"I'm starting to think all the negative feelings I had toward you were really just not negative feelings in disguise."

You furrowed your brow in thought, thinking back just a few days ago when you'd thought you hated him.

"Maybe... Honestly, I think it was a combination of never actually getting to know you and being pitted against you in the competition."

"What, you weren't secretly in love with me all this time?" he smirked.

You simply chuckled softly before leaning in to kiss him one more time.

"We should probably get back," you pointed out, moving to get off the rock. You were almost afraid to look and see what time it was. You definitely didn't want to be late picking up your kids since both of you would be late... That would be too suspicious.

You and Chanyeol held hands the whole way down the mountain, only letting go once you got out of the woods and back into plain sight at camp.

Thank goodness you did, too, because you ended up running into one of the directors on your way to the art building. She stopped you and Chanyeol, smiling when she realized she had just stopped you and Chanyeol together.

"Attempting to get along, I see," she commented.

"Yes, ma'am," Chanyeol replied with a nod. "We're practically friends now."

You knew your cheeks were turning pink at his comment, so you avoided the director's gaze, hoping she wouldn't notice.

"Good, good. I'm impressed with how you've managed to turn things around so quickly."

"Believe me," Chanyeol chuckled. "Me, too."

...You almost choked on the laugh bubbling up in your throat.

"Anyway, we've got our second game of the competition tonight. One hour after dinner."

"Oh?" you asked, finally making eye contact with her. "What is it?"

"It's a quiz bowl. So brush those trivia skills off. Well, tell your campers to," she grinned.

She took a step away from you two but then stopped herself.

"If you two keep up this camaraderie, I might just restore your curfew and privileges." She nodded once before actually leaving.

"Yes," Chanyeol hissed, lifting his hand for a high five. "I'll bet we can go water-skiing in a couple of days."
