Summer ~ Jegulus

Chater 1

Sirius's first year

"Bye Sirius! Behave!" Orion yelled waving goodbye.

"Bye Siri, see you later." Regulus said waving. Sirius came and gave Regulus a big hug and told him, "If dad goes back to doing what he used to I will be back ASAP. Don't be afraid to send me an owl just to talk , ok?"

"Ok Siri thanks." Regulus said.

"I'll miss you Reggie! Oh and keep Kreacher out of my room please." Sirius said ruffling Regulus's hair. "Bye now!"
Sirius said walking to the train. He got on holding his trunk going to the very back compartment. He got in there and sat down. After a little bit he got board and started french braiding his hair, right before he could finish a boy with messy ravin black hair burst in.

"I.... ugh... can't..... breathe..." He said falling to the ground. But Sirius knew better his face didn't turn more pale or bluer. He wasn't even sweating and his muscles where clenched so he was shaking.

"Hmmmm looks like you have a case of bad prank fever." Sirius's said. "But that you get a C+ for effort!" Sirius said giving him a thumbs up.

"Hmmm a mastermind..... why don't you be my friend so we can join forces and accomplish the best pranks!" James said stretching his arm out.

"I have a feeling we are going to be good friends." Sirius said taking James hand and shaking it. They sat down across from the each other and talked a storm. Until a gruffer more worn out looking boy came in.

"May I sit hear?"

"Sure! I am James Potter and this is my friend Sirius Black! Want to be our friend?"

"Hmmm no thanks."

"Why not?" James asked.

"I don't know you, what if y'all are bullies?"

"Well we have a whole train ride to get to know each other." Sirius said. Sirius didn't even realize he looked crazy with half his hair still in a braid.

"Maybe but that doesn't mean yes!"

"Close enough new friend!" James said jumping up and down. "Oh and Siri your hair is kind of only half done."

"Oh whoops I'll finish that!" Sirius's hair had grown right above his shoulders over summer and he was still growing it out. He finished the braid and pulled some of his bangs out, for aesthetics he said.

Suddenly sniffling comes from outside the compartment. James shoots up and walks out. "Hi my names James Potter you look lonely want to come join me and my new friends?" James says putting his hand out for the other kid. The kid was quite round and had nice blond hair. He took James hand and said, "I-I'm Peter Petigrew, and that sounds lovely thank you!" He wiped his face then followed James.

"Look we could be a quartet now! This is Peter Petigrew our new friend! Peter that is Sirius he is master prankster he saw right through my prank earlier! And that Remus he's all dark and mysterious, he won't say he's our friend yet but he is!"

"That's cool I guess." Peter sat down next to James, across from Remus. Remus pulled one of his schoolbooks from his bag with a bookmark in it. He was already 3/4 through it.

"Like to read?" Sirius asked.

"Yup." Was all Sirius got in return.

"Well that's cool but how are you going to become our friend if you don't put your book down and learn something about us?" Sirius asked. Remus tolled his eyes then put his book down.

"Ok why don't we start with what house we want to be in?" James said. "I want to be in Gryffindor!"

"I mean I would love to be in Gryffindor but I will probably be in Hufflepuff."

"Well I would like to be in Ravenclaw."

Sirius stopped he hadn't thought about this. His whole family had been there n Slytherin but did he want to follow his family? No but Slytherins weren't that bad. Everyone was looking at Sirius so he just went with the choice he thought best, "Gryffindor I guess." He said lacking enthusiasm making Remus raise an eyebrow.

They talked the whole way there and Remus even put his book away to join the conversation more. The train stopped and the all shared a boot, it was really hard because of Remus being extremely tall and having long legs. Then Peter taking up two seats. Sirius ended up in Remus lap so they could all fit. You couldn't see it in the dark but they where both blushing madly. They got to the great hall and listened to the hat sing about Hogwarts. After the song Pro. McGonnagall welcomes the students then started calling their names to sit with the hat. James was called first out of the four. The hat instantly said Gryffindor making the whole table to stand up and clap. Peter was called next and slowly walked up to the sorting hat after about a minute it shouted Gryffindor. Same with Remus he seemed to be having a conversation with the hat eventually he rolled his eyes then the hat yelled Gryffindor. Sirius was the very last student so everyone was watching, all his cousins in Slytherin and one in Hufflepuff. He walked up to the hat and put it on his head. 'Hello there Sirius, I see you are a pure blood mmmm Slytherin family. Yes yes but that isn't where you want to be hmmmm where do you want to be?' The hat asked.

'Well Gryffindor would be great!' Sirius thought.

'Hmmm well you do have the traits so why not but maybe Slytherin will do you better-'

'No it will not! I am not made to be a Slytherin.' Sirius thought.

'First be then "GRYFFINDOR!" The hat shouted. Sirius got up, took the hat off, then walked to the Gryffindor table with the biggest grin possible. Sirius could be wrong but he swore Remus blushed.

The year went on from there with endless pranks and sneaking around. They called themselves the Marauders but no nicknames where decided yet. Remus and Sirius liked each other but didn't say anything for fear they would lose each other. Sirius try's to seduce all the teachers and it works. James doesn't believe it until one day they walk into the great hall and Sirius winks at Dumbledore and Dumbledore winks back. James just walks out. Remus is the most blunt and rude of the Marauders but he is also a big teddy bear. James developed a crush on Lily Evans than asked her out everyday. She said no and talked to Remus about their studies. No one discovered Remus's furry little secret yet but there where rumors about a werewolf in Hogwarts. The whole year was crazy but Sirius loves it so much. Although he was also ready to go home and see his brother again.
