Chapter Nine - The Next Step

Batman soon led the Pro Heroes and the League of Villains into the UA building. Batman made sure that no attacks were made against the Villains. Soon enough, he led them to the auditorium to discuss the next step. 

Batman: Cyborg. Have you been able to get into contact with Oracle?

Cyborg: Not much luck I'm afraid. Whatever's jamming the signal must be really advanced if it's giving me any trouble. 

Tokoyami: If we're going to restore communications to the Batcave, then we'll need to find whatever's jamming the signal and deactivate it. 

Aizawa: Sin Tzu must be using advanced military grade communication disruptors. 

Batman: The only way to restore communications is to find it and destroy it. I just need to scan the city for the signal.

Batman then scans for any electronic signals that could locate Sin Tzu's communication's disruptors. Soon enough, he finds a signal. 

Batman: There's an electronic signal coming from the Dagobah Municipal Beach Park. I'm also picking up a large mercenary presence on the beach. 

Dabi: Looks like the mercs want this thing protected.

Batman took a moment to think on a strategy. He remembered how the last time he took up a sizable attack force ended with an all out assault that the Heroes barely survived. It didn't take long for Batman to come up with a plan. 

Batman: Tokoyami. You and Hawks will infiltrate the enemy camp and destroy the communications disruptor. 

Tokoyami: We won't let you down. 

Hawks: We'll be in and out before they realize. 

Batman: Shigaraki. That camp will be swarming with mercenary soldiers as well as drone vehicles. You and the League of Villains will assault the camp to cover the infiltration team. 

Shigaraki: Very well.

Batman: But remember the deal. No killing. Understand?  

The League of Villains simply nodded to Batman's warnings. For now, they would honor the deal considering the larger threat of Sin Tzu. As Tokoyami and Hawks were about to head out, Cyborg alerted the group.

Cyborg: You two be careful out there. I'm hacked into their comms. Sounds like they're gonna double up the patrols. 

Robin: Are they planning an attack?

Cyborg: Nah. There's nothing in their comms about a future attack. I've picked up a transmission from Sin Tzu. 

Batman: Play it. 

Cyborg then activates the transmission which shows a holoprojection of Sin Tzu. It was a transmission for Sin Tzu's forces. 

Sin Tzu(Holoprojection): You have all made astounding progress towards efforts of the Great War. Though it seems our foes have proven to be quite resourceful. Our attack on the Hero stronghold of UA was an unfortunate failure. But we will adapt. That is why I am initiating Operation: Knightfall. When the time comes, you will all receive specific orders that are to be carried out. Operation: Knightfall will mark the end of this insurgency. Operation: Knightfall will destroy our enemies in one masterful stroke. For now, continue your patrols. But know this, when the night is over and the sun has risen, total victory shall be achieved. 

As the transmission ended, the revelation of Operation: Knightfall silenced the room. It became clear to everyone in the room that Operation: Knightfall was Sin Tzu's endgame. 

Beast Boy: Whoa....that doesn't sound good.

Artemis: You think?

Endeavor: Whatever this Operation: Knightfall is, Sin Tzu must be confident in it. 

Batman: It won't happen. We'll stop him and Operation: Knightfall. We'll need to prepare ourselves for whatever he's planning. But for now, Sin Tzu isn't on the attack. 

Endeavor: We're wasting our time by waiting. We should fan out and look for him. There's only so many places in the city that he could hide. 

Dabi: For once, I agree. Why wait when we could find Sin Tzu and take him out?

Aizawa: We already tried that Dabi. If finding him was that easy, we would've already found him. Sin Tzu's been planning this for years. He's probably got dozens of compounds all over the city. 

At that point, it became clear that Sin Tzu was biding him time. Operation: Knightfall as well as the Great War was the accumulation of years if not decades of planning. 

Batman: Aizawa's right. We can't be reckless about this. That's exactly what Sin Tzu wants. If we make one wrong move, then Sin Tzu will not hesitate to capitalize on the move. We need to be smart about this. 

Soon enough, Tokoyami and Hawks began preparing for the infiltration of the Dagobah Municipal Beach Park. 

Hawks: If all goes well, we should be able to get in and out without any problem. 

Tokoyami: If my experiences with Batman taught me anything, it's that nothing ever goes as planned. 

Hawks: You're not wrong about that. And knowing Sin Tzu, I'm sure he's got a few tricks up his sleeve. 

As Tokoyami and Hawks were getting ready, Raven entered the room. Tokoyami immediately approaches her. 

Raven: I wish you didn't have to go. 

Tokoyami: Don't worry Raven. I'll be fine. 

Raven: I know, but.....

Tokoyami: I'll be fine Raven. Whatever happens out there, I'll be fine. I promise. 

Raven hugged Tokoyami in a rare display of emotion. Tokoyami was one of the few people that she could let her emotions flow. Tokoyami returned the hug. Hawks then approaches Raven. 

Hawks: I'll keep an eye on him, kid. If all goes well with the League of Villains, we shouldn't have to deal with much trouble. 

Raven felt reassurance from Hawks's words. Though the situation with Sin Tzu as well as the revelation of Operation: Knightfall weighed heavily on her mind. Sin Tzu was an anomaly to her. She knew next to nothing about Sin Tzu. The danger he posed was truly unknown. Despite this, Tokoyami's reassurance was able to lift some of the weight off of Raven's shoulders.

Raven: Tokoyami....come back. Please come back. 

Tokoyami: I will Raven. I promise. 

The two then kissed each other goodbye. After that, Tokoyami and Hawks would depart from the UA building to make their way to Dagobah Municipal Beach Park to destroy the communications disruptor and restore communications to the Batcave. With the revelation of Operation: Knightfall, the threat of Sin Tzu loomed even larger than before.
