Chapter 4: Silenced

Anyway back to the story.....

Time Skip to Lunch, Marinette POV

When I got my lunch, I sat where I usually sit, next to Alya, Juleka, Rose, Mylene, and Alix. The shocking thing is that I forgot why I avoided her in the first place.

"Marinette." Alya waves.

"Alya. What's going on?" I replied.

All of the girls except for Juleka frowned in a sly but also really furious way. Then Alya spoke up.

"Marinette. You need to stay away from Luka as much as possible. We don't want any surprises."

"Huh?"

Alix sighed. "Adrien and you are a couple. It should stay that way."

Seriously, again with this topic? What is with everybody with me and Luka nowadays? Is it like they're trying to push me away. Jeez just let me be. "I got it. But Luka is my friend."

"And it should remain that way." Alix said.

The others, except Juleka, nodded in agreement.

Once lunch was over, I was yet again disappointed and confused. As I threw my tray in the trash and walked to my locker, Juleka came behind and spoke to me.

"Hey, Mari." Juleka said.

I opened my locker and made zero eye contact. "Let me guess, you're going to tell me to stay with Adrien. I don't want to hear it."

"Not at all actually."

"Wait what?"

She placed her hands on both of my shoulders. This was what caught my attention and made me turn towards her "You should choose who you want to love, not anyone else."

"What do you mean?"

"Luka loves you a lot, Marinette. He may be a bit jealous of you too, but regardless if you're with Adrien or not, he still wants to treat you right."

I got angry. "No, I'm not going to let others tell me who I should love. Luka is my friend, period, and you can't do anything about that."

"I'm not telling you to love Luka, I'm telling you to think about it on your own."

I thought about it for a moment. For once, I should start choosing for myself, not for others to choose for me.

"Thanks Juleka. You're the best."

"No problem. By the way, you should come with Luka and I after school today. We planned on a hangout."

"Definitely will. See you later."

I waved while closing my locker and walking to class. Also, I thought about what Juleka said. Maybe I should think about it. And the thing is, I think that Alya and Adrien are silencing me, just for the sake of Adrien not realizing I was Ladybug sooner. Then again, I might be overthinking it.

Time Skip to Juleka and Luka's ship

When I got on the ship, I greeted their mom and went downstairs to Luka's cabin. Luka was waiting for me there and waved. I waved back and embraced him.

"Hey, where's Juleka?" I asked.

"She'll be there in a second. Just wait okay?"

I nodded. In the meantime we next to each other on his bed and talked about just regular school things when this particular statement caught me off guard.

"How are things going between you and Adrien?" Luka asked curiously.

I sighed but I realized I should tell the truth. "Horrible really."

"Why do you say that?"

"Because ever since I became his girlfriend, he's been telling me to stay away from you since he thinks you might 'lure' me. And even Alya and Alix got into it as well. It's like he won't let me talk to any other guy but himself."

"How long have you two been dating?"

I faced towards him. "A few weeks. Why?"

"I don't think he's good for you, Marinette."

"How so?"

"It's only been a few weeks you have been dating, and he's already being overprotective of you?"

"It's way more than overprotection, Luka."

"Still, you should be careful. You should think about this on your own."

I placed my head on his shoulder. "But I can't My heart and my head are confusing me."

Luka hugged me, and I hugged back of course. "You'll figure it out eventually. I'm sure."

I looked back at him and stared deeply into his eyes. "Are you sure?"

He looked back. "Completely."

For the first time, I actually felt reassured. And this is coming from Luka. I'm shocked that he's not even thinking about what I did to him in the past. Although, the good thing is that he's here for me, and I'm here for him.

Right when we were still staring deeply at each other, I suddenly felt him and I leaning for a kiss, and just as I thought, we did. Passionately and confidently, I didn't feel anything else in the world but his lips making contact with mine. But then, I pushed him off.

"I-I can't do this Luka. I....have a boyfriend."

"But it's okay, Marinette. We can-"

"No it's not okay, Luka. Just as I thought things were getting better, they just got worse. By what, cheating on him with, you."

"Listen to yourself Marinette. You know the way that he has been treating you. Why can't you see that?"

"Because I still love him."

He stared at me in shock, as if the whole world was crumbling down. He didn't say a word. I was left defenseless.

"He's my partner as superheroes. He's my classmate in school. How can I not?"

"If so, then what was the meaning of that kiss?"

I kept quiet. I didn't even know what to say. But he was right. What was the meaning of that kiss! I don't even understand. I'm getting myself twisted and it's all my fault. Although, I heard someone screaming in the distance. That was Ladybug's cue.

"I- I have to go, talk after the battle, okay?"

I walked fast out of Luka's cabin and transformed into Ladybug, until I heard him say this to me.

"I love you, Marinette."

I turned back and stared at his face.

"I know."
