Chapter 4: Fabricated Wonderland

I got to see the pieces from the past and learn how they used to live. However, most of me just want to eat, I swear my stomach is growling louder than the tiger. I ended up getting separated from Athena and Nereus to explore different parts of the museum with their designated Sisters, seeing some artifacts from ancient times going around visiting and playing around with the computers with quizzes and such. We eventually grouped back in one place and met with everyone along with the Sisters. Athena was just her usual self, though, Nereus seemed more joyful than he usually is. Looks like he's enjoying this a lot.

"Attention everyone!"

...

"We are nearing the end and I am fully aware that the majority is feeling famished, or for your say, hungry... am I correct?"

We all nod in response and some chatter goes around, already speculating what comes next.

"Brilliant... Now, you may or may not have brought some snacks on your trip here but, worry no longer. We have provided you with some nourishment and some refreshments."

Oh? See, this piqued my interest. Is he going to reveal a restaurant that's like from the past? Ooh! Or even a menu style that resembles the past? He leads us towards an automatic glass door that leads outside into an empty open area...

Did we just get pranked or is this the final reveal?

"Uhh, sorry to point out the obvious but erm... tsk.. Where the heck is the thingy you've mentioned?" Athena scratches her head in confusion.

The tour guide brings his smartwatch out and taps on it a few times. Then turns around facing us.

"Ladies and gentlemen..."

The ground shakes but this time I can feel my own body shake as well. Just a few feet away from us the whole field starts to transform. Things coming out from the ground, just as I'd described.

"I bring you the essence of the past... I present to you.. the Arboretum!"

I'm... speechless.. This wizard literally took me to another world. Just like from the stories of the girl in wonderland! Trees started forming, flowers started blooming and the water started flowing which forms a flowing river of the sort. It just completely transformed right in front of everyone.

"Wow, this is... I mean... just.. wow.."

It was such a magical reveal. There are even different levels of areas to explore. It's such a huge space, practically double the size of the fossil exhibition.

"Now children.. and caretakers..."

A group of people came by with food carts and setting tables up. Once they finished, there were rows of containers that were the size of a textbook and bottles right next to it. It's obviously a lunch box with our drink.

"Grab your boxes and bottles and pick a nice spot for you to have your nourishment. Enjoy the moment."

We all dispersed immediately, the Sisters trying their best to control the children's excitement, but all was for naught. I look around to try and find the perfect spot but I hear someone calling my name. I can hear the faint calling of my name. I look around to see Athena helping Nereus up towards this highest point. I say highest but, it's like a few feet high. There were different ground levels to get up to, it was really interesting to see.

You know what, I can't be bothered to look anymore since most of it looks occupied. I head over to those two to enjoy my meal. We sat down and looked around as leaves fell from the trees one by one. It's not often we get to see this many trees and a ground filled with grass. We only got gravel, dirt and some bushes here and there and one big tree in the orphanage. Though I gotta give it to the Sisters for turning it into an appealing place.
