"That's it for the weather in kolkata. Thanks for watching." Durga quickly covered her head with a pillow besides her when she heard the weather forecaster, perhaps the first voice she heard every morning.

"Sargum, did you have to do that?" Durga asked still covering her head.

"Forgive me Durga but I wouldn't have if you woke up earlier."

"Okay, fine I'm sorry. Good morning." Durga replied as she slowly removed the pillow from her head and stared at the plumpy figure in front of her.

"Good morning. Get up and get ready else the prayers will start without you."

"I will just give me a minute, I'm still sleepy." she rubbed her eyes and yawned.

"Get up or I'll call your mother." Sargum warned and Durga suddenly sat up.

"I'm up now." she smiled at Sargum who only shook her head.

"You don't want to change. You keep doing this every morning."

"Relax, I said I'm up. I'll be down for the prayers before it starts."

"I have a feeling you won't like every other time." Sargum argued.

"No problem then I won't get ready before then since you don't believe me."

"You naughty child." Sargum raised her hand to hit durga who gave out a loud cry "Okay fine, I'll be there. Sargum please."

"I'm waiting downstairs for you, don't keep me waiting." she said and exited the room.

"Why can't I have a quiet morning all to myself." She asked aloud and stood up from the bed looking around to see the same room she had spent the last twenty two years in before giving out a sigh.

Durga took about fifteen minutes to get ready and stood in front of the mirror applying finishing touches to her hair.

"Sam hasn't called me yet that's weird." She wondered and looked at the mirror.

"Durga Gupta Sargum will kill you now." she heard Sargum's annoyed voice along with the hymns from downstairs.

She'll probably be coming up now.

Durga continued and ran out the door and down the stairs to the praying room. The prayers ended in two minutes to Durga's relief.

"Durga you came down late." Simran started while facing her only child.

"Mum, I'm sorry. It won't happen again."

"I hope so." Simran replied with an eye roll.
