"It must be Sameer .I'll go get it." Durga said and ran to the door, she wasted no time to open it.

"Durga, am I late?"

"Shut up Sam." she replied and hugged him.

Sameer Kumari was only a year older than Durga. They met in college and immediately fell in love. Durga was crazy about him "He's absolutely perfect." She  once told sargum.

The only thing that stopped them from being together was Arjun and his perception of the perfect man for Durga.

Sam was of the middle class which meant that he wasn't qualified in Arjun's eyes.

However, Simran and Sargum approved of him since the first day they met.

"Will you leave him there Durga? bring him inside." Simran scolded.

"Sorry, I was caught up in the moment." she smiled and accompanied Sameer in. They spent the rest of the day watching television, having potato and cauliflower for lunch and chatting all day long.

"Sam is such a nice guy." Sargum started after Meera and Sameer had gone.

"Yes, he is but dad won't understand that. I won't get married to anyone if it isn't Sam." Durga answered.

"You must understand his point of view." Simran joined in.

"I do mum and it's horrible. It's my life and my marriage not his. If I were to suffer, it'll be me not him."

" I know Durga but.."

Simran stopped when she heard Arjun's car from outside. "Dad's back, I don't want to see him. Good night mum." she stood up

"Goodnight Sargum. If he asks for me tell him I was a little sick." she said and left.

"She can't keep running madam. Sooner or later, she'll have to stop." Sargum said sadly.

"I know but I hope it won't end badly. Those two really love each other."

Sargum nodded in agreement.
