Chapter 12

"What happened Sam?" Laila asked as they got back to Rano's home.

Sam gave no answer and stormed into room "Why isn't Sam saying anything?" Laila walked into the living room where others were seated.

"Durga's father refused once more, he's a proud man I tell you. He threw insults at us as though we were a bunch of trash." Rano paused and fumed with anger "Sometimes I wonder how such an arrogant man could have such a loving wife and daughter. He thinks he's so great."

"If not for Sameer's. I would have killed that man there. He has the guts to insult our family."

"Relax Ronak, I pray it will be okay for Sam."

"We all pray so. If our family has to endure such insults then Sam would have to forget Durga and marry someone else." Ronak replied.

"No uncle, I admit Durga's father was wrong to insult us but I won't forget my love. Durga is my life uncle. If Arjun Gupta wants a feat then a feat he will have." he said and walked to the door in haste.

"Sam, where are you going to?" Anarkali inquired "I'm off to Durga's house, her father didn't  understand my intentions, I'll go and explain it to him."

"No Sam wait, you won't go." Rano replied "Not now mother, not today. I must go." Sameer answered and walked away.

"What are you doing here?" Dheer asked on seeing Sameer.

"Call me your boss. I'm here for him."

"He's busy."

"I said get him for me now." Dheer ran into the house.

"This is not an open house that you can just come in whenever you want boy." Arjun roared but Sameer was quiet waiting for a chance to speak.

"Why are you here again?" he yelled

"You said you wanted someone who has accomplished feats and milestones for Durga right?"

"What is your point?"

"I will be that man for Durga. I will make a name for myself and become achieved, but you must no give Durga to any man."

Durga, Simran and Sargum walked to the living room on hearing voices "It's a wonderful thing."

"So do you agree? You keep your end of the bargain and I'll keep mine."

Arjun thought for a while "As you wish."

1 month later

Sameer finally got an opportunity to leave the boundaries of India and make a name for himself, he was ready to embark on the journey to London not just for himself but also for the love of his life.

Sameer and his family arrived some minutes before his flight was to take off.

"... passport? that should be all, right?

"Yes uncle, that's all."

"I'm more than ready. I just want to see Durga before I leave and I'll be set to go."

"She'll be here soon." Anarkali assured him and Rano and embraced her son for the last time.

"I know you'll make me proud, don't be discouraged and make sure you come home to me."

"I will mum."

"Don't stay there for long."

"I won't, it's only for about two to three years and I'll be back to make sure Durga is your daughter-in-law. You shouldn't be crying now mum."
