2 weeks went by fast and no news was heard from Rano, Durga was guilt stricken.
As though waiting for Sameer was not enough, she blamed herself for Rano's disappearance.
The Guptas gathered in Durga's room to console her when Sargum came upstairs.
"Sir, someone is here."
"I'm not expecting anyone here today."
"I think he's here to present a marriage proposal... for Durga."
"What!" Durga blurted out obviously angry, she had warned everyone to stop coming with their marriage proposals because she was with someone else.
"When will they all realize that I'm not interested in them?" she asked getting up.
"Durga sit down you're not feeling well right now." Simran replied "Your mum is right, I'll handle it you should just stay here." Arjun added
"No dad. I want to meet the person and say it to his face." Durga wasn't going stop no matter what, as she went down the stairs closely followed by Simran, Arjun and Sargum.
"Durga please stop, you're already pale as it is you'll get stressed up and then worse." Simran pleaded but Durga increased her pace and soon, she was infront of the man in question.
"The long awaited time has finally come Durga, your Sameer is back." Sameer proudly announced, his appearance had changed.
While away Sameer established a business in London and had fast become a renowned businessman from India in London, Durga couldn't believe her eyes, she still hadn't moved an inch.
"I've heard a lot about how you've been faring. I heard that my Durga who once filled the place with so much laughter and smiles had stopped. I couldn't believe it, so I decided to come see it for myself."
"Aren't you going to say something?" he continued and went closer to her.
"I've longed to hear your voice Sam, it's been six long years. I've missed you so much."
"Forgive me for not coming earlier. I didn't intend for six years to go by." Durga was now in his arms just like old times.
"It's okay, all that matters is that you're now here."
"I've kept my promise. I told you that immediately I come back. I'll be here to ask for your hand in marriage. That time is here now."
He said slowly releasing her from his grasp and turned to Arjun.
"Uncle, I've done exactly exactly what you've requested of me."
"Sameer, I'm sorry, please forgive this old man before you. I thought I was right until you left, that was when I saw the damage that had been done."
"You had Durga's best interest in mind, I should rather appreciate you for doing what you did. It changed my life for the better."
Sameer stopped and took Durga's hands.
"Uncle, if you don't mind. I would like to ask for your daughter's hand in marriage."
"You don't need to ask, she's all yours. Fix a date for the wedding and I'll be fine with it."
"Finally, she's going to become part of our family." Ronak exclaimed as he came in with Rano and Anarkali.
"This is a cause for celebration." Rano joined.
"Aunt Rano, where have you been?" Durga inquired and embraced her "It's all been Sameer my dear."
"But how? I don't understand."
"He hired those men to arrest me, they took me to a large house and apologized for their deed. If they didn't tell me that it was Sameer's plan then I would have made them go six feet under. It was a new house which Sameer bought. He made me promise to not tell you else you would have heard from me a long time back."
"Uncle Ronak was also part of it?"
"No dear. I got to know later, he made me promise as well."
"He hasn't changed a bit Durga he's always up to one thing or the other." Anarkali added.
"Sam, it could be that you arrived in India a week ago and you're coming to see me now."
"No Durga, I can't do that to you. I controlled all that from London, I came back today."
"Fine, I believe you."
"We will be a holding a welcome back party for Sam at our house tomorrow, I'll like to invite you and your family Mr Gupta."
"We'll all be at attendance." Arjun replied.
"Well if you don't mind Mr Gupta. I'll like for the engagement to take place at the party as well." Rano suggested.
"It's okay at any time of your choice." Arjun answered.
"Thank you so much, I think it's time we leave." Ronak continued.
"Hey no, today is a good day. Sam is back and tomorrow is his and Durga's engagement, you should all stay for some sweets and have lunch with us." Simran protested.
"Alright, that's a good idea Mrs Gupta. Fine by me." Anarkali answered for the group.
