First day of school and Katsuki was excited in a bittersweet kind of way. Standing in front of the huge school set everything in stone for him. He was a student of U.A..

He got in and in to the top hero class no less. He was so happy when he first saw the "congratulations" part of his letter he couldn't hold back to onslaught of emotions that came over him. He was given a paper chart of where he placed on both exams overall and found his name to be fourth on the list for the written exam and first with the most villain points for his division on examiners. Out of all the divisions that weren't in on recommendation though he ranked third.

After finding his name on the documents he went and found Izuku's and was absolutely floored with the amount of points that his best friend was able to obtain in both exams. He was first on the written exams scoring 147/150 and 120 in villain points and a whopping 60 in hero points for a total of 180.

What in the fuck was his best friend? Did he actually have a quirk that he never told him about? The thought is gone before it even has time to settle into his mind. Izuku would never lie to him about something like that.

He was ecstatic though! He and his best friend were going to go to their dream schools! There was no way he'd be denied with those numbers.

Then he looked up and saw tears in Izuku's eyes and assumed that Izuku was feeling the same way he was. Overwhelmed.

Till Izuku looked up and Katsuki saw his jaw was set and his eyebrows were pinched together.

"No. Uh uh. Not with those numbers. There's no way. Izu you topped all the of the chats. You went above and beyond in both exams!" Katsuki was already shaking his head and starting to get pissed off.

"They think I cheated." The word rolled off of Izuku's tongue like venom. "They think I somehow got the answers off of someone else before the exam and that I was using enhancers of some kind during the physical. There's a statement in here that hints that 'A quirkless person could never achieve these numbers when someone with a quirk couldn't so it must mean that I was cheating." The calmness in Izuku's tone was a stark contrast to the absolute fury showing on his face and darkness in his eyes.

"What the fuck? With how they monitor those tests? They keep those exams locked up tighter than they do secrets about aliens. Who the fuck do they think they are?!" She had been looking over his shoulder and saw all the numbers he had so she saw how both of her kids did. She'd given him a tight hug and a quick kiss to the top of his head when she saw his results and then she mom was off pacing and yelling and ranting when she heard what Izuku said.

Aunty Inko just kept quiet and wrapped her arms around Izuku's shoulders from behind with tears in her eyes. He couldn't tell if it was relief or disappointment that was shining in her eyes. Everyone under the sun knew that she was the most worried about Izuku becoming a hero and it was understandable. Izuku would always be at a disadvantage in this world while he was quirkless. He would always be at a higher risk to dying on the job than anyone else because he only had what he's given himself in intelligence and strength to get him through situations. It was terrifying to Aunty Inko but she always has and he knew she would continue to support her son in everything he chose to do with life. Even if that meant going into a career that had the highest mortality rate around.

"I don't accept their decision." Izuku's face had lost it's hard edge and was set into a more determined one. "There's a phone number here for any questions or comments so I'm just going to go a head and make a phone call real quick." Izuku waited till his mom let go of him to stand up, gave Katsuki a tight hug with a quick, "I'm so proud of you Kacchan. You did amazing in the exams," a sincere smile and then took his papers with him and headed towards Katsuki's room to make his phone call.
