"Make sure you tuck- Exactly!" Aizawa Sensei was standing in the middle of the yard while he, Monoma and Hitoshi were practicing basic and practical physical defense and offense maneuvers till they had them perfected and ingrained in their muscle memory.
To be quite honest with himself, he was having a blast. It had been a while since he brushed up on the basics. He was happy with the burn in his muscles and ease of the motions that were slowly coming back to him that he'd long since learned. Only having to perfect and re-memorize no more than three moves, he was able to keep up with a slow paced mock battle with Aizawa Sensei. He was able to match every move and counter with one of the maneuvers they'd just gone over.
After he showed that he had the moves down to a science, he was paired with Hitoshi to help him through his small mistakes.
"Come on. You can do better than that." He makes comment when the violet haired boy makes the same mistake for the seventh time in a row. "Don't think. Just let your body take over. It knows what to do, you just have to listen." He tries yet again to encourage the tall boy to just let his instincts take over instead of staying inside his head.
They take position once more.
Izuku darts forward, much slower than what he's used to moving at. He brings an open hand, palm first towards the boy's shoulder and waits a second longer than normal to draw his hand back. Hitoshi hesitates before grabbing his wrist and pushing it downwards and out. In retaliation for the wrong step Izuku ducks down to ever so gently kick the boy in the stomach. The kick wouldn't even leave a mark but it was enough to knock the boy on his ass.
Thankfully Hitoshi is quick to recover and tries to lunge and bring Izuku down from his mid section. Izuku gives him a little leeway before he placed his foot behind him, dug in and threw the boy's weight to the left, letting him roll. "If you keep leaving yourself open, I'm just going to keep throwing you." He shrugs and laughs at the boy's irritated huff. 'He does look more determined though. Okay. I can work with this.' Izuku smirks before he puts his hands on his hips and says, "Come at me again, Noodle arms."
The determination that set itself on Hitoshi's face brought a real smile to Izuku's face. He was glad that all it took was a little teasing to get the other boy to, quite obviously, just let his body take over. He could see that the purplette was no longer thinking about his movements and was just relying on his instincts.
Hitoshi stood up and took quick, steady steps towards Izuku. He didn't want to take the boy out of his determination so he started with the first move, giving a sluggish type throw towards the boy's face. He knew that even if he made contact with Hitoshi's jaw, it wouldn't do anything more than leave a red mark, maybe a dull bruise. He was pleased when the boy ducked under the punch and brought his hand up to wrap around Izuku's wrist, finally dragging it down the correct way, throwing Izuku of his balance while bringing his knee up and into his gut.
Izuku let himself be thrown to the ground, landing on his back and looking up to see what Hitoshi would do next. He smiled when he saw the boy drop to one knee, reeling back to give Izuku what was supposed to be a knock out blow. Izuku swats the fist away from his face and reaches up, intending to put the boy in a head lock. With Izuku moving at half speed, Hitoshi is able to bring his elbow in and jab Izuku in the ribs hard. Izuku's body took that as someone trying to tickle him and seized up. Which gave Hitoshi an opening to slip out of the almost head lock and straddle his waist. Izuku brought his arms up to protect his face from the punch that came down.
Izuku could tell that Hitoshi was putting his all into the punch, but Izuku knew that the hit didn't have near enough power behind it to do a single thing. It wouldn't even leave the area sore after maybe ten minutes. He knew that his pain tolerance was beyond anything people could comprehend but even he knew that Hitoshi needed to put on some muscle mass if he wanted to become a near quirkless underground hero. There was no logical situation where Hitoshi could go through even getting his license with lack of power he has as of right now.
