"Who do you think will represent Hogwarts?" (y/n)'s friend asked.

"Draco Malfoy, I wish." (y/n) replied and started laughing at her friend's expression to her answer.

"Never" she shook her head, "Nobody under the age of seventeen, remember? And, that coward could never!"

"Yeah yeah" she smiled at her friend.

"All Malfoy has been is mean to you and you still don't get over him. What is it?" her friend shook her, jokingly.

"I can't put my finger on it, yet" she smiled, "He's special."

Even after all these years, (y/n) still found Draco un-resistably attractive. He'd grown taller and he was lean and (y/n) could never describe it well.

Draco, on the other hand, had now started understanding that being called Draco was not an insult but, that was what close friends did. Nonetheless, very few people called him "Draco". Some people called him "Malfoy" and most people didn't talk to him.

It didn't bother Draco. He had his friends and a Pureblood girl seemed to have a thing for him. It was enough. He didn't need half-blood and mud-bloods as friends. He was content in the company he had and that was it.

"Draco!" he heard an unfamiliar voice. He looked around to see a Hufflepuff girl. He had never caught her name although she often talked to him and looked at him.

"Professor Snape is looking for you." she smiled.

"Malfoy", he corrected her.

"Malfoy? Why Malfoy? she asked, still smiling but with a bit nervous posture.

"It is what it is." he said and stormed past her with Crabbe following quickly behind.

"I think she fancies you." Crabbe laughed.

"You think?" Draco commented sarcastically and quickened his pace towards Snape's room.

Snape gave Draco his book and Draco returned for dinner.

"What was it?" Pansy Parkinson asked, sort-of flirtishly.

Draco raised the potions book that was in his hand after which she nodded and went back to her food.

(Y/n) was just wandering around when she saw Draco running. His perfect hair was messy and he seemed to be running from something. His friends were, as always, following him.

"Leave me alone." he yelled at them and most of them walked away, but Pansy Parkinson lingered behind earning a mean stare from Draco which made her walk away, mumbling something under her breath.

Draco sat under a tree a looked up at the sky. He didn't see (y/n) and so, (y/n) kept looking at him. Seeing him alone was particularly rare.

For some reason, Draco was initially smiling. Soon enough, he started laughing while trying his best to stop laughing.

She watched him laugh. Draco Malfoy's laugh was dangerously contagious, especially if he wasn't snickering at someone.

(Y/n) smiled and decided to talk to him.

She walked up to where he was sitting and sat away from him but far enough where it wouldn't be creepy and where he could hear her, without having to shout.

"Hi" she greeted and Draco looked at her, the ghost of his previous laugh still on his face.

"How long have you been there?" Draco asked. His face was now completely serious. It was as if someone had replaced him with his shadow.

"Here? Just now." she cleverly answered, to not come off as his stalker.

Draco got up from his spot, dusted away the grass and dirt from his clothes and just before walking away, he warned (y/n), "Stay away from me."

(y/n) just looked at him. She didn't nod because she had no plans to stay away from him.

"Cedric Diggory!" Dumbledore said out loud and the whole of Hogwarts cheered and clapped.

"Told you. No Malfoy." (y/n)'s friend laughed as both of them got super-excited because well, Cedric was a Hufflepuff and they were like family. At least, that's what they were asked to believe.

"Harry Potter? I can't believe it! How could he have done that?" were the few words heard from every mouth the following day.

Soon, there were "Potter Stinks" badges everywhere and (y/n) heard that Draco had something to do with it.

Well, he can be a jerk she thought.

That day, just before she went to bed, her friend came up to her and asked, "Do you know what happened to Malfoy some days earlier?"

(y/n) shook her head.

"Moody turned him into a ferret." she laughed, "Serves him right, that jerk."

As amusing as that sounded, (y/n) didn't laugh, she smiled to herself for she had finally seen a bit of Draco Malfoy's good side. He wasn't all bad.

He can laugh at himself, at least, if not in front of everyone she thought
