"Shut up, okay?" (y/n) screamed, "What's your problem?"

The entire Hufflepuff common room went silent.

"Why are you so offended?" Susan Bones asked, equally loud, "Is that because you've got a dirty little secret with Malfoy?"

"I don't need to answer you. "All the people in the common room were paying full attention to the heated argument.

"Yes, you don't. Because you're guilty and we all know it." Susan Bones smiled, an evil smiled and looked around at everyone. The others started whispering and giving accusing stares to (y/n).

"You all keep blabbering about how scheming and evil the Slytherins are and especially Draco Malfoy, but you know what, you all are no less. All you do is gossip about them and to be specific, there is no 'dirty little secret' but yes, I talk to Draco, I like him. He's much better than all you gossiping boys, I assume." (y/n) said, too agitated after hearing stupid things about Draco that weren't even true, "Try to look beyond what you hear."

She exited the common room and met Cedric on the way. He saw her and smiled. He was such a nice person and (y/n) couldn't help but smile.

(Y/n)'s only good friend had gone home because of some emergency and well, that caused her to hang out with other people and listen to what they said and they went on about Draco and his family and his house for an entire weekend. She had to break out after that.

Although, her friend didn't particularly like Draco, she didn't say mean, false things about him.

Yes, Draco could be a jerk and he was but their stories had too much exaggeration. There were things that Draco Malfoy would never do. She knew because she had been observing him for 3 and a half years.

(Y/n) had nowhere to go and so, she went to the library to sit in silence. There was only a single soul in the library, Hermione Granger. She was flipping the pages of a book rapidly. (Y/n) walked away from her and sat down behind the shelf farthest from her.

(Y/n) knew about Hermione and Draco's back and forth arguments so, she didn't want to confide her problem in Hermione after standing up for Draco.

She heard footsteps coming her way. Hermione had come to keep her books back on the shelves.

"Hey" she greeted (y/n), "You look off."

"No, I'm fine" (y/n) lied.

"Did Malfoy do something?" Hermione asked, sitting beside her.

(y/n) looked at her, confused.

"It's not a secret, you know?" she smiled teasingly, "You and Malfoy were seen kissing in the hallway."

(Y/n) buried her face in her hands, and shook her head, "That was not what it looked like."

Hermione's presence was strangely comforting.

"I believe you but I've seen the way he looks at you, it can't be nothing." she suggested.

"He doesn't even know my name." (y/n) laughed a little, realizing that Hermione had seen Draco looking at her.

"You may be able to make him a little better" Hermione joked , "although I don't think that's possible."

"He did use non-magical ointment" (y/n) told her.

"No way." Hermione looked surprised.

Soon, the girls were heard talking about the Muggle world and all kinds of Muggle things since they'd both grown up in the Muggle world and knew exactly what the other was talking about.

For a while, (y/n) forgot that her friend was not here and that she had put herself in bad terms with all the people of her House.

"Did you hear that?" Draco heard people whispering as they stared at him.

"Goyle, what did I do?" Draco asked. Students at Hogwarts always made a big deal of whatever a Malfoy did.

"Oh" Goyle stuffed his mouth with a cupcake.

Crabbe continued for him, "Word has it that you kissed the Hufflepuff halfblood and that you two are a thing now."

"What?" Malfoy frowned, "Who told them that?"

"Don't know, mate" Goyle swallowed his cupcake.

"But the Hufflepuffs were spreading the news, So, that girl must have started the rumour." Crabbe spoke again.

Draco Malfoy was furious.

Unfortunately, he saw (y/n) on the way to his charms class. He grabbed her hand and pulled her aside to where nobody could see them.

"Spreading rumours about us now, are we, (l/n)?" Draco sneered a dangerous sneer.

(Y/n) smiled, "You know my last name." she paused then, continued, "Wait, what?"

"Stop acting innocent, squib." he remarked, "You'll pay for this."

He stormed off, leaving (y/n) in utter horror.

"No way!" she whispered to herself, "He was finally being nicer."

She walked slowly to her transfiguration class which caused her to reach there late, very late, which resulted in a week of detention.

(Y/n) would get to see Draco but presently, that didn't seem like a good thing. He was furious and he would never believe her.

"Oh Hufflepufffs!" she whispered under her breath.

In Hogwarts, everyone knew that messing with a Slytherin was bad but messing with a Hufflepuff was worse. That was one thing that the students of Hogwarts didn't know.

I'm over, (y/n) thought.

Hufflepuffs were known to be nice but mess with them and, they'd mess with everthing and everyone you know.
