Arielle's P.O.V.

"And where do you think you're going looking like that?" Ramon asks raking his eyes over my body.

Deciding its best not to answer him I ignore him and instead focus on combing Baby Girl's curly hair out.

Suddenly the comb is knocked out of my grip by a huge rough hand. "I said, where the hell do you think you're going!"

"Out," I snap back picking back up the comb and once again directing my attention to MiMi's head. I'm really not in the mood to deal with Ramon's foolishness! I feel a sharp stinging in my cheek and I raise my head to see Ramon standing over me fuming. Did he really just hit me? Ramon's done a lot of low down dirty thing but never has he ever hit me or Baby Girl when he's sober. When he's drunk now that's a different story entirely.

"Listen here little girl. You're going to watch the way you talk to me! Do you hear me?" He roars his hands clenching into huge threatening fists.

When I don't answer immediately he screams again, "Do you hear me?"

As I gaze into his cold eyes I am stricken by something that I usually don't feel around Ramon. Fear. Straight up bone shaking fear. With Ramon it is safe to say that you never know what the hell he is going to do next.

"Yes I hear you," I mutter shrinking away from him.

"Good. Now lets try this again. Where do you think you're going dressed like that?"

I gaze down at what I'm wearing. What's wrong with skinny jeans and a tank top?

"MiMi and I are going to go hang out with my friend Chris."

His eyes become even harder as he sneers, "You're just a dirty whore aren't ya? Fucking everything with legs."

"Don't call my sissy that!" MiMi suddenly says her usual soft loving eyes going cold and menacing.

"I'm gonna let you know this one thing Arielle. That nigga don't want but one thing from you he don't care about you! Shit, you ain't nothing special!

You're just a dirty trashy bitch. That's all you're ever gonna be just like your mother!" He shifts to leave the room but suddenly my vision becomes blurred by red.

"You know nothing about my mother you nasty ass dog! My mother was anything BUT trashy!"

"Then why did she drop you guys off here first chance she got?" He smirks looking at me as if he rules the world.

"You don't know shit!"

He didn't know how my low down daddy would beat the shit outa me and my mom. He didn't know how she had promised me every night since I was five that she'd get me outa that hell hole! He didn't fucking know that my mom dropped me and MiMi off here because that was the only choice she had after what happened that haunting night! The truth of the matter was that Ramon really didn't know shit about my mother so he had no right to call her outa her name.

"I don't know shit?" He asks taking a threatening step towards me.

The smartest thing at this point would probably be to shut my mouth, but him bringing up my mom just set something off deep inside of me. "No you don't know shit!"

I quickly pull Baby Girl closer to me as he looms over us.

Apparently I wasn't quick enough because he swiftly grabs Baby Girl and slung her over his shoulder.

"Put her down!" I scream reaching for my sobbing baby, but he ignores me and instead turns to head out of the room.

"Ellie!" Baby Girl's small voice begs.
