mall of asia
7:00PMHours after relaxing and enjoying yourselves in the hotel, it was finally time for dinner. Wakatoshi didn't want to eat another typical fancy dinner and since it was so rare for him to actually have preferences in general, you went along with it.
"Well, where do we go?" you asked and scrolled through your phone. "This is the biggest mall in their country, apparently," you informed him.
"And like, there's so many mall buildings around. We're at the 'by the bay' area now," you added.
You browsed through the website, getting overwhelmed with the number of shopping outlets, brands, restaurants, and even attractions in the mall.
"Well, the ferris wheel looks nice," Wakatoshi pointed out and looked up.
"I meant for dinner, Toshi-kun," you clarified and tried to filter the search results.
"There are restaurants near the ferris wheel, Y/N," he added and held your free hand.
"Oh, let's eat there then?" you suggested. "But nothing too fancy, yeah," you continued.
"There's a seafood restaurant there, Y/N-chan."
"You want to eat seafood again?" you chuckled, remembering that it was his favorite on your first trip abroad.
"You don't want to?" he looked at you, seemingly a little dismayed.
"I want to eat seafood!"
"Oh wait."
"Yes, Toshi?" you asked and looked at him thinking deeply about something.
"Can you eat seafood?" he muttered and narrowed his eyes, doubting himself.
"Oh, right. Can I? Did the doctor say something about seafood?" you asked too and began typing on the search bar.
"Would you like to eat the local cuisine for a change, then?" he suggested. "Better to be safe with Wakumi, Y/N."
"Our Wakumi?" His sudden call of your planned name caught you by surprise. It was sweet.
Subconciously, you placed your hand on your tummy and smiled at him. "Alright, alright. Let's have something else for dinner, Papa."
"Papa?" he repeated, obviously stunned.
"What do you want our Wakumi to call you? Dad? Papa?" you asked and began walking around.
"Papa would be nice," he answered with full honesty as usual.
"Then Wakumi will call me Mama," you chuckled and smiled. "Then another one, and another one."
"How many do you really want, Y/N-chan?" he asked casually.
"Maybe four," you answered and glanced at his reaction. "Five is a little too many, too chaotic even!"
"How many boys are you hoping for?" he kept asking while eyeing on the restaurants, looking for something that offered Filipino dishes.
"Two boys and two girls?" you guessed, "But how many do you really want, Toshi?"
"Maybe four is the maximum."
"Oh, Toshi-kun, a Filipino restaurant," you pointed out. "And there's a Japanese one nearby too."
"Are you already homesick, Y/N? Do you want Japanese food?"
"No, no, maybe we should try something new. Like what we usually do when we travel."
"Okay." He nodded and walked towards the lady on the counter with you.
"Good evening, Ma'am, Sir. A table for two?" she asked attentively.
"Yes please," you answered with a nod.
"Your name, Ma'am?"
"For?"
"We'll call you when a table is ready."
"What?" you asked again and looked at Wakatoshi.
"Ushijima," Wakatoshi answered for you.
"Shi," she repeated, "ma?"
"Ushijima," he reiterated.
"Please wait, we'll call you as soon as a table is ready."
"Oh, right, we don't have a reservation," you mumbled as Wakatoshi walked you to the waiting area. The two of you took a seat and you let out a sigh. "I'm sorry, it completely got off my mind."
"Reservation?" he clarified.
"Yeah, we don't usually wait for meals," you frowned. Is this the mood swings they keep saying in the articles? No? Maybe?
"It's okay. I'm not too hungry," he reassured and held your hand tighter. You leaned on his shoulder, feeling a little clingier than usual.
"I'm hungry," you whined. "Isn't there a priority thing for pregnant women? Is that a thing?"
"I brought you a snack," Wakatoshi revealed.
"Really?" you looked up at him. "You did?"
"Yes. I read that pregnant women tend to get hungry faster, which makes sense. Our baby is eating too," he answered, still appearing unfazed.
"What snack?"
"Cookies. I bought some in a convenience store."
"Oh my god, Toshi. I really love you," you cried with a delighted look written all over your face.
"Yes, I love you too." Your husband unzipped his small bag, with you still leaning on his shoulder. He handed you the pack of cookies and you opened it the moment you had your hands on it.
"What kind of snacks would you like next time, Y/N-chan?" he inquired as you munched on the cookie.
"Brownies, maybe?" you answered in a muffled voice.
"Okay, I will take note of that," he responded with a nod.
"What else?"
"You," you joked, something he probably still doesn't get.
"Ushima?" you heard the lady earlier.
"Mr and Mrs. Ushijima?" she repeated your name, finally the correct one.
