Now that Alya knew that Adrien and Marinette were dating, she wouldn't stop pestering them to go on a double date with her and Nino.

"I already told you, Alya, my father won't let me go out. The only time I usually get to see Marinette is during school," Adrien said.

"But what about next Friday? It's Valentine's Day, won't he at least let you go out that night?" she asked.

"Oh actually, Marinette and I already have plans for Valentine's Day."

Marinette looked at him, surprised. "We do?" she asked him.

"Of course we do!" he replied, smiling at her.

"And when were you going to tell me about these plans?" she asked.

"Well it's kind of a surprise. We'll talk about it later," he said, glancing quickly at Alya and Nino.

Marinette turned back to her friend. "Sorry, I guess we already have plans."

"You guys are no fun," Alya said, disappointed.

In Adrien's room that night, Marinette asked about the plans for Valentine's Day.

"I already told you, it's a surprise. But I do need to ask you for a favor," Adrien said.

"Okay, what's the favor?"

"I... need to borrow a Miraculous," he said hesitantly.

She blinked. "YOU NEED TO BORROW A MIRACULOUS?"

"Um, yeah. Just that day, then I'll give it back!"

Marinette stared at him in disbelief. "Which one do you need?"

"I can't tell you that, it would ruin the surprise," Adrien said.

"So you expect me to hand over ALL of the Miraculouses?" she asked.

"Well, yeah. I guess."

"Adrien! You know I can't do that! They're my responsibility, what if something happens to one of them?"

"Oh come on, Princess," Adrien said as he wrapped his arms around her. "Don't you trust me?" he asked playfully.

Marinette sighed. "Of course I trust you, Adrien. But this is too much. Besides, you know that we're not supposed to use them for personal reasons."

"Oh come on, Marinette. We have to do something special, it's our first Valentine's Day together!"

"Yeah, and it's going to be our last if anything happens to the Miraculouses," she said, unamused.

"So is that a 'yes'?" Adrien asked, moving closer so he was almost kissing her.

Marinette groaned. "You better not make me regret this."

"Never," he said, leaning in.

Valentine's Day arrived. All the girls at school couldn't wait to see what gifts the couples were giving each other. Nino gave Alya a silver bracelet, and she gave him new controllers for his video game console. Ivan wrote a song for Mylene, and she got him a teddy bear. Chloe sent herself an embarrassingly large heart-shaped box of chocolates.

Of course, Marinette had made a gift for Adrien. It was a black hoodie with green trim, a subtle nod to his superhero alter-ego. She didn't exactly have a good track record with giving him gifts, so she was nervous while she waited for him. When he arrived he walked right up to her with one hand behind his back.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Marinette," he said as he presented a single red rose to her.

A huge smile spread across Marinette's face as she looked at the rose.

"You know you have to accept it this time," Adrien continued, winking at her.

"I love it," she said breathlessly, taking the rose from him. "Thank you, Adrien." She wrapped her arms around his head and kissed him. Breaking away, she reached into her school bag and pulled out his gift. "This is for you."

Adrien quickly unwrapped it. His eyes lit up as he looked at the hoodie. "It's perfect," he said happily, pulling it over his head.

Marinette laughed. "You don't have to wear it now!"

"No, I'm going to wear it everyday!" He hugged her. "I can't wait for our date tonight."

"Me neither," she replied.

Ladybug arrived at Adrien's house after dark. She brought the Miracle Box with her. "I don't know about this," she said as she detransformed.

"Everything is going to be okay," Adrien said. "Now stay in here with Tikki and Plagg, I'll be back." He took the box and went into his bathroom, closing the door behind him.

"This doesn't look very promising," Marinette said to the kwamis, smiling.

"I guess we'll have to wait and see!" Tikki announced.

"I'm with Marinette, this is weird," Plagg said.

While they waited, the three took turns sharing their ideas about what Adrien was up to. Plagg had an outlandish theory that involved balloons, cardboard boxes, and a pineapple. After about ten minutes, Adrien came back into the room.

"Alright, everything's ready! Are you excited?" he asked.

"More like terrified," Marinette said. "So, the surprise is in your bathroom?"

"Not exactly." Adrien reached into his pocket, pulling out a pair of glasses and putting them on. Kaalki, the horse kwami, appeared next to him.

"Kaalki!" Marinette, Tikki, and Plagg all said in unison.

"Greetings!" Kaalki replied. She turned to Adrien. "Whenever you're ready!"

Adrien nodded. "Kaalki, Full Gallop!" he said as he transformed. He turned to Marinette. "I had to go there first to make sure that everything was ready, but now we can go together."

"Where are we going?" she asked.

"You'll find out soon enough." He took a couple of steps back. "Voyage!" he called, waving his arm around in a circle. A portal appeared. "Alright Marinette, I need you to close your eyes." She did. He grabbed both of her hands and guided her through the portal.

Marinette suddenly heard the sound of waves crashing. "We're at the beach!" she said excitedly, keeping her eyes closed.

"That's right, but don't open your eyes yet. Dismount!" he called, detransforming. He pulled a snack out of his pocket and gave it to Kaalki. "Alright, come this way," he said, grabbing Marinette's hands again and pulling her along with him. "Okay, now lay down here next to me... Look straight up... Okay, open your eyes."

Marinette opened her eyes. What she saw took her breath away. Above them in the night sky were millions of stars, twinkling as they slowly moved across the universe. She had never seen that many stars ever before. "A... Adrien..." she tried to say, but she couldn't. She was mesmerized by the sight above her. They stayed staring at the stars until Marinette was finally able to speak. "Adrien, it's so beautiful. Where are we?"

"We're on an island called La Palma," he said. "It's supposed to be one of the best places in the world to see the stars."

"Adrien," she said, still struggling to find the words. "This is... amazing."

He looked over at her. "I think that you're amazing, Marinette. Thank you for being the greatest thing that ever happened to me."

Marinette tore her eyes away from the sky to look at him. "You're the greatest thing that ever happened to me, too," she said. She sat up slightly and leaned over him. "I love you so much, Adrien. Thank you for bringing me here tonight."

"You're welcome, Princess," he replied, putting his hand to her cheek. She leaned in and pressed her lips against his, kissing him with every fiber of her being.
