Y/N walked into the school with Jacob, she immediately felt a hundred pairs of eyes on them. She sighed softly and looked down as she walked through the crowed hallways, trying not to think about what they all must think of her. They'd all seen Derek's comment, Y/N could tell by the way they were grimacing as she walked passed them all. Derek must have thought the world of himself right about then and he must have thought that he was right, that he hit the nail right on the head. He hadn't. Nobody truly knew what went down between her and Ben, nobody other than Ben and Y/N herself. Surprisingly, she hadn't even told the truth to Jacob for fear of him hating her and looking at her differently. So, she decided to let it go unsaid, for both of their sakes.
Jacob took Y/N's hand as they got to their lockers, giving it a reassuring squeeze before letting go and opening his locker. Y/N swing open the metal door and got her textbooks out. This was going to be a fun day, she could already tell. Not only do they have a test but they have the whole school staring at them. They didn't know Jacob or Y/N personally, not really. And Y/N shivered at the thought that people thought that either of them could be capable of murder.

The teacher droned on at the front of the classroom about some sort of cell structure, it was going to come up on the end of year test so Y/N knew that she should really pay attention. But Y/N kept feeling as though a hurd of elephants were walking over her grave. Eyes were on her and Jacob and if she strained her ears enough- she could her the things they were saying about her. Whispering about things they knew nothing about. Y/N heard them whispering about the knife Derek said that Jacob had. Y/N knew the knife existed but she was certain that Mr Barber was getting rid of it, he wasn't going to let a 'weapon' in his household.
She could hear them whispering about Y/N and Ben, calling her desperate. They made her seem like some weirdo chasing after the popular guy persistently despite being rejected everytime. That made her sound pathetic. Y/N wasn't pathetic. But if she listened to the other people whispering, it was another story. They were talking about all the dirty, unclassy things that she had apparently done with Ben. What had happened in his bedroom at parties, what had happened on the couch in the living room with his parents only in the next room and what she'd done with him in the janitors closet. And none of it was true, not a single word. It was just gossip, all lies.

Y/N and Jacob walked through the hallway at lunch, heading to the cafeteria. Jacob smiled as he saw Sarah leaning by her locker, both of their eyes seeming a bit lighter as they saw eachother.
"Hey, Sarah!" Jacob smiled at her as he leaned against the locker next to Sarah's. She returned the smile quickly before turning to Y/N and giving her a hug.
"I'm sorry about what Derek's been saying about you. Both of you, really.." Sarah told them both before leaning back against her locker. Jacob shrugged it off, trying to act tough.
"I mean, the comment wasn't really that bad in all honesty." Jacob replied.
"Yeah right, accusing you of murder in a public forum isn't a big deal." Y/N responded, shaking her head a little as the sarcasm rolled off her tongue like second nature. Sarah looked at them a bit, slightly confused. Y/N had a feeling that there was more, she gulped.
"It's not just that, he's been telling his friends stuff about you guys. Really bad stuff. Like.." Sarah paused and sighed softly, debating whether to continue or not. The look she received from Jacob made her continue, "He's been calling you a slut, Y/N, he's been confirming the rumours about you and Ben. He said he walked in on you guys once and, well, Ben isn't here to deny it and I don't think people will listen to y-"
Y/N sighed and nodded a little bit, "Yeah, I know.. nobody would believe me, that's why he knows he can get away with saying that stuff."
Sarah looked at her sympathetically and then looked at Jacob, "And he's been saying stuff about you as well, stuff like- you taking photos of Y/N changing and doing stuff to them.." Y/N noticed how uncomfortable Sarah seemed talking about it. Y/N looked at Jacob for his response, and he just looked at Sarah and sighed softly.
Jacob opened his mouth to respond but something caught his eye at the end of the hallway. Noticing this, Y/N turned around and saw a few police offers walking down the hallway. Y/N looked back at Jacob who seemed to have frozen in place, eyes locked on the officers. Y/N shook the sleeve on his jacket a little, "Jake?"
Jacob jumped a little and came back to reality, turning to Y/N and grabbing her hand, pulling her away with him down the hallway. In the opposite direction to the officers, "Let's get out of here."
