Y/N and Andy walked back into the house after a silent drive home. Part of Y/N regretted going to see Jacob but she now knew that Laurie hadn't taken any money with her. That had to mean something, right? Who doesn't take money with them when they're going to get a haircut?

Andy threw his car keys down on the kitchen counter as they got in, sighing softly. "You know, kid, me saying you shouldn't see Jacob wasn't me trying to be an ass. He's your best friend, I was thinking of you, I didn't want you to get upset again."

Y/N closed the door and sighed a little, shrugging as she kicked off her shoes, "I wanted to see him.."

"I'd have taken you with me if you'd asked." He sighed and scratched his eyebrow for a moment, "Do I need to pay you back for the cab?" He asked her and she shook her head.

"No, I took money from the drawer anyway." She told him and he nodded, going to walk upstairs before he stopped and turned back to her.

"And being rude to Laurie? I know you guys don't get on but she's been through a lot right now. She'd be nice to you if you were in her position, even if she didn't mean it." He shook his head a little, thinking on how to wrap up the conversation. "And I know you blame her for what happened to Jacob but it was an accident."

Y/N fought the urge to scoff, she knew Andy wasn't that stupid. Surely he'd seen how crazy she'd been acting recently? But she just nodded. She'd get back to it later and tell him about the wallet still in the drawer, she'd tell him exactly what she thought about this 'accident' but it wasn't the time right there. Andy was stressed, he wouldn't take her argument seriously. She needed to time it right.

Later that day, Y/N and Andy were sitting at the kitchen table eating diner together. It was a microwave lasagna, it wasn't the best but neither of them could be bothered to cook anything proper. So the meal that was ready after three minutes in the microwave was good enough.

"Neil's really up for me pressing charges, he's such an ass. All he says is 'justice for this' and 'justice for that'. It's just.. frustrating. He can't get into his head that it was an accident."

Y/N didn't respond and just kept on playing with her food with her fork. She sighed softly, still not feeling okay with everyone being so convinced it was an accident.

When she didn't say anything, not even hum in response, Andy looked up at her and raised an eyebrow, "Everything okay, kid? You got something you want to say?"

Y/N thought about it, she could just keep quiet. Things might work out peacefully that way. Jacob would wake up, they'd get discharged and the family would move away and start a new life somewhere. If Y/N told Andy what she thought, it could go two ways.

The first way it could go would be that he'd freak out at her for thinking his wife would do something like that, it could jeopardize her future with the Barber's. And then it could go the second way, the way where Andy believes what she says.. and Y/N was willing to take that risk. For Jacob.

"I uhm.." She took a deep breath and let it out slowly, "I think you should press charges." The words sounded crazy after she'd said them out loud, and she could feel the tension grow past unbearable levels.

Andy froze and looked at her, "What?"

She put down her fork and sighed, shaking her head, "Surely you feel that something isn't right about this? How did Laurie escape with such little injuries and Jacob-"

"Kiddo, calm down, I know you're upset but-"

"But what? Jesus Christ, Andy. You're a lawyer aren't you? Treat it like one of your cases." Y/N suggested, pushing her food away from her, not feeling hungry anymore.

"So you want me to put my wife in jail because a girl my son brought home one day says I should?" Andy asked, a little too bluntly. But Y/N knew he wasn't trying to be an asshole, he was stressed enough as it was and she had just asked him to press charges against his wife for attempted murder of his own son.

"Her wallet's still in the drawer. You know that?"

Andy sighed and rubbed his eyes, sitting back in his chair, "Y/N.."

"Wouldn't she have taken money if she was really getting him a haircut?" She continued, desperate to prove her point. Especially since she'd already started and potentially ruined everything. "And she didn't take cash because I went through her things in the hospital room and there was no cash there."

Andy took his hand away from his eyes, "You went through her things?"

"That's not the point, I needed to prove something! He's my best friend and I know that something isn't right with what happened that day! Laurie had been hiding upstairs after she'd seen me, she was acting all weird and-"

"What do you mean? After she'd seen you?" Andy asked and Y/N almost let herself believe that he was coming around to her points.

"I don't know, she.. she passed by on the stairs and stared at me and said "Did Jacob do that to you?" And I had no idea what she was talking about but then.. then I didn't see her or hear her until she said she was taking him for a haircut." Y/N explained and Andy squinted a little, deep in thought.

"Where was she looking?" Andy asked her.

Y/N tried to remember and then shrugged,  "I don't know, my back? My shoulder? Why does that matter?-"

And then the phone rang and their conversation fell short. Y/N looked at Andy who was already walking over to the phone and answering it. A list of all possible things he could be getting told started to form in Y/N's head.

But then Andy put the phone down and took a breath before looking over at Y/N, heart practically beating out of her chest.

"Jacob's awake."
