Sam pov

In a dark stagnant hall I lead two of my men to the holding cell to keep the goods safe until it's owner comes and claim it. I just hope the loss of it's tail doesn't lower the selling value. The damn thing was a lot of trouble getting. While pondering on how he can keep the promised amount until they reached their destination and tossed the girl into a cage and slammed it shut. "You two keep watch out there and let no one in here. I have to explain to this abomination it's place once its owner comes for it. Understood?" Sam said with a wicked grin as he took a glance at her with thoughts of "lessons" he will be giving this thing.

(Alex pov)

Alex rush towards the magic store the witch kat owns. In there were jars of creatures and body parts from who or whatever, but that's not important! He must get kat's help to find Rose with the help of Rose herself, she just didn't it yet. I headed up the stairs and pound on Kay's door to get wake her up, which seems to work as no sooner did I start pounding on her door that I was hanging upside down at a unhappy witch wearing her usual witch attire.

"What the hell you want Alex! Do you know what time it is!" Kat said upset to being rudely interrupted while in the middle of making. "I'm sorry Kat but I'm in desperate need of your help. There's a girl who needs me!" I said emphsizing with a serious expression on my face. "Sigh. Fine, but you owe me some dragon horns and dragon blood. Deal?" Kat said trying to detour me but I don't care since this is life or death. "Deal! Now enchant this tail to find it's owner and be quick!" I said with urgency in my voice. "Wow... I didn't expect you to say yes to that. Sigh. Must be serious if you go so far as to slay a dragon to save some girl. So I'll be nice this one time and do it for free. Okay?" Kat said as she snaps her fingers undoing the spell that hung me upside down causing me to fall on my head. "Oww! Kat! Why couldn't you let me down gently and not fall on my head?" I said as my head is hurting and angry that Kat did without a care. Kat looks towards me with her on the verge of tears. "Why don't you figure that out once your done playing the knight in shining armor and save that girl. Hmph!" Kat said pouting as she got to work on putting a enchantment on Rose's tail. I manage to get back on my feet as I wait knowing that I hurt Kat feelings with this request I put on her but there was no time to help Kat with her injured feelings. After all Rose needs me. It wasn't long until Kat returned with Rose's tail, which seems ready to get to work finding rose. "Thank you Kat. I swore I'll make it up to you when I can. But I must hurry for there's no telling what rose is going through." I said as I left Kat's magic store and let rose's tail loss, it then started leading me thrugh the streets and allies until it stopped at a burned down church outside of town on the
East wall where it pointed at what look to be a underground entrance that wasn't there when the was church still around and wasn't burned down. I carefully checked for traps or gimmicks to prevent or alarm anyone down there of intruders and with steady hands I manage to undo any traps and alarms then slipped in without making any noise I got in and followed Rose's tails but along the way I took down anyone who try to get in my way until we reached a iron door and inside I heard screaming and yelling. "Do you understand your place! Hmm! You worthless scrap of filth!" Male voice said as sounds of whips striking flesh sounded harshly followed by pain filled screams fill the room while my rage build to unnatural levels until I kick the door open and knocking them off their hinges with a thunderous crash. What I saw almost cause me see what I ate earlier. Rose in a big metal cage and the tormentor who I thought was my comrade stand over with his foot on her neck and a whip in his hand turned out to be Sam.

(Rose pov)

With what little strength I ha d I opened my with tears still flooded down my face looking up at Alex friend. Why? Why did I let myself get fooled by these humans? I-I thought that knight...Alex was different. But I was wrong. As she look up to Sam with the beat up face he inflicted on her she see Alex but didn't see he's face. "You! Why you come here! To see me hurt and humiliated! Well! Have a look!" I said hurt to see the man who betrayed me.

(Sam pov)

"Shut up! You can't trick me you worthless lizard! And if you mean that goodie goodie Alex then go ahead and hate him! I hate that bastard too!" Sam said full of hatred for that man. The man he couldn't beat, who's respected by everyone and loved by all the beauty of the town. While I scrounge around for his scraps. While Sam was thinking these thing a surprise blow stroke his side sending him to the side of the cage and knocking the air out of him.

(Rose pov)

I was shocked at what just happened. What's going?! I'm I saved? No. Sam said mean things about Alex. He just got what he deserve for his words... But now I'm in Alex's mercy. . . I'm scared. What will he do to me? I try to crawl away from Alex, scared of what lesson he have for me. "Stay away! Don't touch me! Noo!" Rose said full of fear after what Sam did to her. But what she expected was different than she thought as Alex held her close to him. "I'm sorry rose. I failed you as a knight. But if you let me I like to redeem myself and punish that fake knight that dare to harm while under my protection" Alex said with sadness and shame in his voice. He means it! Oh thank goodness! He come to rescue me! I hugged him. "I just want out of here. Please." I said with relief that I'm saved and in feeling better that I'm in his arms.

(Alex pov)

"As you wish my lady" I said relieved that even though she beaten and bruised she believes in me enough to trust me. I scooped her up and start to carry her out of this vile place and take her to Kat place for treatment. "Hold it! You think I would let you take that thing! It's already been paid for! I won't let you take my ticket out of this stupid town and everything I want! Then your crazy!" Sam said as he crawled towards us. Desperate to get Road back for his selfish endeavour for luxury. I pity what I thought to be my friend and comrade, but seeing him as he is now I just left him there while carrying rose out. But at the door I turn towards him. "Sam... When did you stop being yourself?" I said to him then turn. And left him not bothering to listen to him answer the question.

Sam pov

"How dare you! How dare you pity me! I'll get you for this! I swea- gah?!" Sam said as a knife stabbed him and the unknown figure leaves Sam body for the rats.
