"Hey, Belle!" I shout. Belle down the hallway.
"Yeah?" She shouts.
"Can you come here for a second?" I ask.
"Sure. Give me a second." She answers.
It has been another week and Josh has been getting stronger every day. Belle says that he should be up on his feet soon. But she's been saying that for days. I'm guessing she's trying to keep me here to bond with me, and I'm perfectly fine with that. I am just worried about him. Even though he seems just fine.
"What can I help you with?" Belle asks.
"I was just wandering how much longer you intend to keep Josh. And if you just want to keep me here than you can come with us to where ever we go next. I would love to have you by my side, if you want to of course." I answer.
"I'm keeping Josh here because I want to make sure he's ready to be let go. I love you and you are my sister but I don't think I'm the fighting type, mostly because I never even learned how to fire a gun let alone hand-to-hand combat. If I had learned how to fight I would consider going with you once Josh is fully recovered, but where would I learn? All I know is how to treat medical wounds and stitch people up." Belle explains.
"How about I teach you how to fight, hand-to-hand, firing a gun, everything, because I want you to come with us. What do you say?" I ask.
"Yes. I would love to come with you. Josh, and I mean this, will be able to go in another week. So, you have a week, one week to train me how to fight. Do you think you can do that?" She says.
"Yeah, I think I can manage that."
Belle is a fast learner. It's been two days and she's already a master. She must have had previous training. She's very strong and skilled. She's still a bit hesitant around a gun though. She does like my bow. I love her so much.
"What are you going to be teaching me today?" Belle asks.
I throw a punch in her direction, with not much force behind it. She dodges it by stepping back just in time.
"Hand to hand combat." I explain. I throw another punch and she blocks it. While my guard is down she kicks me in the stomach.
"I might have fibbed a little about knowing how to fight." She states quietly, her face close to mine. I punch her in the side. I take the arm closest to me and use it to flip her onto the ground, moaning in pain.
"Ha! I beat you. One thing you always have to remember is, never get to cocky." I laugh. She laughs with me, holding her side.
"C'mon, help me up, I want to go again." Belle says. I grab her arm and pull her up. She throws a punch and it lands in my shoulder. I punch back. Belle grunts as my fist lands in the center of her abdomen. Before I can react, Belle grabs my arm and flips me hard onto the ground. I laugh in pain as the air comes back into my lungs.
"What are you guys doing?" Josh asks.
"Havin' fun." Belle says.
"Can I join?" Josh asks.
"What do you think?" I ask Belle.
"Sure." She answers.
"Yeah. That's fine." I say. I walk up to Josh and kiss him. I then grab him by the wrist and flip him over. He laughs.
"Hah! I tricked you! Haha." I say laughing. Josh pulls me down, I scream, I grab onto Belle and pull her down with me. We laugh together on the ground, facing the sky. Josh is obviously feeling better and I have my sister back. When all this violence is over and Josh and finally have a calm life together, I'll look back on these memories and laugh, I'm glad that even in the midst of some big battles, Josh and I have stuck together through all of it and we have made some friends and found wonderful hints of our past. We have and continue to stick together, that's what's important.
