It was only three days to the full moon. Moony's health had started deteriorating, like it did every month around this time. He had reduced eating, smiling, even talking. All he ate during this time were chocolates. These were his only pacifiers. He would push James, Sirius, Peter away, sit in the corner of the Common Room all by himself with a huge bar of chocolate and his homework. He didn't even accept chocolates from them. So to make his stock last forever James Sirius and Peter had to trick him. Every Hogsmeade weekend, they bought extra chocolates without telling Moony. Whenever they got the chance they'd slip a bar or two in his trunk. Even though Remus never confronted them about it,James was sure that he suspected their little trickery. But if it made Remus happy, they'd do it over and over again for the rest of their lives. After all they couldn't bear seeing him alone and hopeless..

Right now as they saw Remus sitting alone in the corner like usual, Prongs went and talked to Padfoot. Both of them left the Common Room arguing loudly so that everyone could hear them- including Remus. During this time Moony didn't even come to calm them down. So they were sure that this was going to work. They waited right outside the Portrait Hole till some other Gryffindor went in so that they could sneak in behind them under the invisibility cloak. Then they charmed some stools to float around the Common Room. Everyone started giggling but Remus didn't seem to care.

So they removed the cloak and went to him to play a game of Exploding Snap. But he simply left the three of them and went outside to the open grounds. They followed him outside and as soon as they were away from the Castle all three of them changed into their Animagus forms. They went to Remus so that he could atleast pet them if not talk to them. When finally James started to irritate him with his antlers did he break into a wide grin.

The smile which was never there around the full moon. It finally convinced them that they were not starting to lose or Remus. The little, intelligent fellow who loved his mates beyond limits, was still under all his periodic gloom. Smiling wide and laughing all of them left the fields to go back to the common room  for a game of Exploding Snap.on their way James saw Proffesor McGonagall, she knew about Remus' problem and was quite shocked to see him so happy but before the others could notice she quickly left.

And as for the game of Exploding Snap. Remus won,as usual even though Sirius kept saying that he'd let him win everyone knew that he was far from winning. But the best part of it all was how happy Remus was. Forgetting his furry little problem for the time being.
