THE BEST PRANK EVER

This year we Marauders were surely going to pull off the best prank in the history of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. And we already had the plan figured. Sirius & I had already loade our pockets with our weapons. 8 in the morning on the last day of the term before Christmas. Remus had just left to distract Lily with month worth of doubts from the three of us. Peter was doing the same, with Professor McGonagall. Which meant that we had atleast 10-15 minutes before anyone came. Under the Invisibility Cloak, Sirius & I left for the Great Hall. Then quickly we took out and set off some of the Mr. Filibuster's Fabulous Wet-Start No Heat Fireworks and ran off back to the Common Room. All four of us had a hearty laugh about it as soon as we were back together.
Then very casually we started walking towards the Great Hall. As soon as we entered the Hall, everyone started staring at us. We gave a very well-practised, innocently perplexed look to everyone. Instantly, Sirius went into his drama session, "What happened? My! My! Everyone.... So quiet! This early in the-" when he was stopped by Professor McGonagall with a very accusing look. She asked us about where we were for the past ten minutes. Remus told her that he was with Lily, and she agreed to it. Peter didn't need to answer because he was with Professor herself. And finally Sirius and I were eyed at. Everyone was pretty sure that we'd done it. That's when our well planned excuse came into use -"We were finishing up our last bit of the Potions essay." No one seemed to believe us so Professor McGonagall sent us to fetch it. It was a good thing we'd planned this weeks before and finished the essay yesterday night only. When we actually showed the essay to Professor she had the look of utmost shock on her face, which she managed to cover up before more people could see. AND SHE LET US GO. This was by far our best prank in the six years at Hogwarts. This was the FIRST TIME we didn't get detention!
