Your family visit you at 221B as a surprise and unknowingly disturb you and Sherlock while your working on a case together. He does his absoloute best to stay patient and put the case aside in order to make the best impression on your parents. They ended up being very supportive of your relationship with the charming consulting detective although your Dad said he did seem to be quite unattentive sometimes.

You introduced your parents to John over a family dinner and despite your fathers overprotective attitude and slight bitterness John kept calm and thoroughly impressed the both of your parents. Your Mum even dropped a few hints about marriage and wanting grandchildren which had you practically sweating with embarassment.

As you don't have a very close relationship with your parents, Jim is introduced to them two years into your relationship. The consulting criminal adapts to the role of the average charming boyfriend very quickly and soon has your parents wrapped around his little finger. Really, would you expect anything less of him?

Lestrade

Unfortunately for poor Greg his first encounter with your parents is more than uncomfortable, as he has to question them about the murder of a friend of their's. It takes him a whole 10 minutes to realise he is interrogating his girlfriends mum and dad. He complained about the embarassing situation for a month afterwards.
