Date: 842 CE
Location: York, Northumbria
Runa had the group help her gather all of the riches and put them in large sacks that they had brought with them. They then went back the way they came and emerged from the building, cautious of meeting more enemies as soon as they stepped out. But they did not. Runa the Wise’s army had done their job, no one had the fight left in them.
Runa led her group to where the fight started, as that was the place she told everyone remaining after the battle to meet, providing they won of course. Once she got over to the place she scanned her army, looking to see how many were lost. Most of them were still up and living, so the Valkyries did not have many to bring to Valhalla.
And from the still living people of the army, there were not many grave injuries, only broken bones and cuts—and the one all mighty fighter that had decided to come was knocked out on the ground as that was what was done after the fight. One they started fighting they couldn’t shut themselves off, only after being knocked out could they go back to normal.
Runa the Wise had won another battle with an “odd” strategy.
She had her army move further into the forest—far enough away from York so they wouldn’t be seen, as there were probably still some townspeople hiding. They were usually unpredictable. They then set up camp for the night, with Nora in possession of the riches and a rotation of guards to keep watch.
Once the night had passed, they walked back to the shoreline where their ship is and set up camp, as it was night once again.
Then once morning came, they set up sail and left for home.
The waves were like monsters once again, but did not break the ship—they went through the ship and broke apart, only to reform again once they were through.
They got back home with no major hitches, and were welcomed as victors. The riches were collected and stored with the rest of Runa’s collection, and had a victory party through the very night they arrived on.
