The next morning I woke up before Cameron to see that my parents left to work already. I sighed and hopped in my shower and cleaned myself. I decided to put on a black hoodie with white skinny jeans and my back and white converse and my sunglasses. When I finished getting ready it was only seven so I decided to make Cameron breakfast. I made toast eggs and bacon for him. After I cleaned all of the dirty dishes I went into his room to see him sprawled out on his blowup mattress with his phone plugged up beside his face. I rolled my eyes and went over to the mattress.
"Cameron get up before I deflate your mattress," I threatened. He moaned a little and rolled over.
"Ok, then," I said and opened the hole to his mattress and it deflated into a flat mattress.
"Ok, I'm up," he said getting up. I rolled my eyes and left his room while he got dressed for the school day. I went into my room and grabbed my bookbag and phone after I deflated my mattress and rolled it up. I left my room to see Cameron doing the same. He was wearing a white t-shirt with blue jeans and gray tennis shoes.
"You have breakfast downstairs then we have to walk to school since we are not that far from it," I informed him. He nodded too tired to really answer. He got downstairs and sat at the counter where his food was. After one bite he woke up and gobbled the rest down.
"It's been forever since I ate breakfast this good," he complimented, "who made this?" he asked.
"I did," I answered.
"I wish you were here for my whole life. How did you learn to cook?" he asked.
"I just picked it up after being alone for so long I guess," I shrugged, "we need to be going is you don't want to be late," I stated while walking out the door with Cameron behind me. We walked the few blocks to the school and when we got there it was seven fifty.
"You want to meet my friends?" Cameron asked.
"Sure," I answered hesitantly. I don't like being in a big group especially if there is someone with a sharp voice.
"Great they will like you i'm sure," he assured.
"That's not what I'm worried about," I mumbled to myself so he could not hear me. The closer we got to the school the more noise I could hear but I forgot my noise canceling headphones at the house so I would have to make do. We walked to the sophomore hall while talking about random things. Turns out we have the same schedules.
"Cameron! Toby's trying to kill me!" that was the australian accent so that must be Mason. His voice was a little softer than the normal and was a lemonade yellow color it was bright like Cameron's so he was going to live a long life. Something about his bothered me though. It had a small hint of gray so he was also lying about something to his friends. It was nothing serious though so I let it go. Then Mason hide behind me to keep Toby from getting him.
"You wouldn't hit the new kid would you Toby?" Mason shouted from behind me it shook my vision and everything went blurry for a second before I shut my eyes tight. I felt tears well up because of how loud that unexpected noise was but I forced them down in an effort to cover up my abilities. When I opened my eyes, no one had noticed how I reacted.
"What the heck Mason, keep your voice down you got everyone in the hall's attention," Toby stated while stopping to catch his breath from chasing Mason.
"Eh, they don't care, I've been here for over a year so they know what to expect," Mason retorted while still hiding behind me.
"Ok, you two chill out, where are the others?" Cameron asked.
