"Don't mess with us again or with Evan's group or it will be worse next time," I warned and she was just sitting on the ground gasping as she was bawling her eyes out. Her friends took the hint and picked her up and carried her out somewhere. I turned back to the group to see them staring at me.
"What?" I asked.
"I didn't think it was entirely true to be honest, but now I know to come to you if I ever need help," John stared at me dumbfounded. I just giggled at his face.
"She just pissed me off is all," I shrugged.
"Right remind me not to make you mad if that was you when you were just pissed," Cameron added and everyone agreed.
"I'm glad you got her away she was pissing me off as well," Eric agreed. For the remainder of lunch we all laughed at Sydney and her poor attempts at flirting. Then we all headed back to class and learned some more. During class I had to use the bathroom so I left class and on my way back I saw Evan standing outside the nurses office with the nurse and the principle then just as I got to my classroom door I saw two police officers run full sprint out of the nurses office with the principle and nurse rushing after them when they saw and the police asked for reinforcements and and ambulance to an address that was very close to Evans address. I watched Evan go into the nurses office and shut the door so, like every other kid would have done, I walked over to the nurses office and saw Evan and the new kid only the new kid had his mask off and his face visible he also looked extremely worried as he explained something to Evan and then Evan's face turned to worry as well. The new kids face had two big scars on it. One going down the side the left side vertically and ends just below his jaw. His second scar is horizontal and goes from under his right eye to just over his nose. His eyes are a deep blue like my eye but a little brighter than it. Just then he buried his head into his hands and looked like he was crying. I quickly left and went back to my class before they could see me. I differentially was not supposed to see that I thought to myself as class drilled on. I pushed it aside and focused on class and all of the other crap that I'm having to deal with for my new friends and the big secret that I can't tell anyone.
After school ended Mason, Cameron, and I split off from the group to go to our house. When we got there mom and dad were not home then I noticed a note on the fridge that read, "Boys, we have to go on a business trip and won't be back for at least three months. Please do try and keep the house clean for us and you can invite people over if you want. Our phones will be off since we will be on the other side of the world and we won't get your calls or messages until later. Remember to eat Jaren and boys if you need money there is some in the bank and my debit card is on the table only Jaren knows my pin and I would like it to stay that way. Have fun and stay safe and remember I love ALL of you," after I read the note I passed it to Cameron who then read it and passed it to Mason who read it.
"So what do we do now?" Cameron asked.
"Sleep over, obviously," Mason answered with a 'duh' tone in his voice.
"Ok, I'm down with that, but only if mom agrees," Cameron agreed. Then they both turned to me.
"Why are you still calling me mom?" I asked.
"Because you are such a mom. You cook, clean, and you are always serious about us not bullying others," Mason answered.
"And you have perfected the 'if you don't get over here and do this right now' face," Cameron added and Mason nodded in agreement.
"Ok, you may have a point," I agreed.
"See? So we can call you mom?" Mason asked.
"I don't care, but if the others ask don't explain it to them just let them figure it out," I answered.
