THE MAIDS OF THE BRIDGERTON HOUSEHOLD, HELPED A GLOWING AND VIBRANT DAPHNE OUT OF HER INTRICATE COURT ATTIRE INTO A SIMPLE AFTERNOON DRESS. With sheer excitement, Daphne couldn't contain herself and gushed about her success during her presentation with the Queen. Calliope lay on the bed, a book in her hands as she flicked through, her eyes merely skimming through the words without absorbing the contents.

"You absolutely sparkled, sister." Francesca stated as she smiled brightly at her sister.

"Come, now. I merely simpered and minced in a pretty dress like everyone else." Daphne stated with a proud smile on her lips as she knew that she would be named the diamond of the season from the praise that she received from the Queen, meaning her future was all but ensured.

"Not exactly like everyone else." Calliope said as she tried to hide her face in the book that was rested on her lap as she thought back to the disastrous entrance to society of the Featherington sisters.

"Oh, I shall need to go and visit with Penelope." Eloise stated letting out a deep sigh as she turned her head in the direction of the opposite household. "Her presentation was anything but — what was it the queen called you again?"

"Flawless." Daphne said without a moment of hesitation with a smile on her features. "Or some such thing."

"Yes, some such thing, indeed." Calliope snorted attempting to disguise it as a couch when Daphne glared at her. "I'm sorry sister, but not even I received such a compliment from the Queen at the presentation. It's a rare thing."

"Trust me, I was astonished Her Majesty offered me, out of 200 young ladies present, a most gracious remark." Daphne muttered as she pulled her down from the bun that it had been placed in.

"Yes, it was quite a distinction." Eloise remarked, making all her sisters look at her with a questioning expression for what she had to say next. "And now 200 young ladies have a common adversary. I wish you luck, sister."

"Eloise!" Francesca scolded while Hyacinth and Calliope were trying to hide their smiles.

"What? It is true." Eloise said dismissively as she turned her attention down to her hands.

"My success on the marriage mart influences all of your prospects."

"Maybe not Callie's because she is known to be a lone wolf." Eloise stated with a small smile on her lips as her gaze shifted towards Calliope, who had a hint of sadness in her eyes. However, it was only for a moment as Calliope released that her sisters were paying attention to her, she say up on the bed and have her sister a mock salute.
