Song for the chapter: Us by James Bay.

Quote for the day: "Don't be carried away by too much and don't be depressed by too little."

Beck's POV
That break was just what I needed to feel better. I'm back and better like never before!

I looked out of the window, the trees and the clouds gave me a warm feeling and my mind suddenly went back to when I was in the woods with Ella.

"Sir we're heading straight to the mansion right?" My driver spoke up, interrupting my thoughts.

I cleared my throat. "Yes and can we please stop at Ben's to get dinner."

"Okay sir." He replied.

I laid my head back and sighed. I was going to help Ella regain her memory but how was I going to do that? And where was she staying now? I rubbed my temples.

"Sir would you like your special? so that I can place a call to them right away." The driver said.

"Yes of course but if Ben isn't around to make my spaghetti then don't order for it."

He drove into the parking lot besides the Cafe and the head chef came out almost immediately with my order.

"Thank you so much sir! It's been a while." She smiled and I flashed her a forced smile because I knew what was coming next. She was going to ask me about Ella even if she knew she was involved in an accident. "Sorry But isn't Ella like your new chef now?"

"Chef?" I asked, pointing at her. I remembered her name but I want going to allow her know that.

"It's Chef Michelle Sir." She replied and I didn't fail to notice the obvious hurt on her face.

"I believe you have been tipped for your work." I smiled.

"Yes sir I jus-"

"You just didn't have any work doing. Perhaps I'll inform my brother about that." I picked up my phone and she gasped. I held back my laughter.

"Please sir this will never happen again. I'll be on my way now." She ran off immediately.

I laughed. "Thomas drive me home please." I checked my mail. "I have an important business tomorrow that I can't afford to miss so all I want to do now is go home and get some quality rest."

"Okay sir."

A lot had changed since the past month. We found out Paul was gay, Douglas and Lorraine had been seeing each other and they were going on their first date today and Tonia, well she wasn't ready to forgive James and the last thing I heard about her from the private investigator that I hired, was that she travelled out to deal with some unfinished business.

James was in Jail now but Gabrielle wasn't. I heard she was still trying with the aid of her Lawyers, to reduce his sentence in prison but I knew she wouldn't last for long before they get her too because she according to what I heard she has almost gone bankrupt since Tonia seized almost all her properties.

Aunt Carla went back to Atlanta to concentrate more on her fashion business there and Ben, He is still the distant person that he is and the ever busy Chef.

The gates opened immediately the driver horned and I breathed out in relief. It was good to be home.

"Thomas I don't want any visitors. If anyone asks about me, tell them I'm not back yet." I ordered as I got down from the car.

I saw some people at the entrance of my house and I shot my guards a questioning look but they only shrugged their shoulders.

I rushed over to them and I saw Lorraine gripping a girl who looked like she was in serious pain as she kept clutching her head tightly before she fell down. I stopped dead in my tracks.

What was Ella doing here? And what just happened?

"What's going on here?!" I yelled but no one answered. "Go get some water!" I screamed to no one in particular.

My guards rushed into the house and came back almost immediately with a bucket of water. I poured some water on her and I quickly performed CPR and she woke up. I rubbed her hair softly. Her hair had gotten so full and her curls were longer now.

"Thank you.." She looked up at me and I stared deep into her eyes. Douglas coughed a little and I got up from my kneeling position.

"It's fine so what happened?" I asked, my eyes trained on Lorraine and Douglas.

"I just kinda blacked out." She rubbed her head and groaned "I remembered some things. Douglas we used to be so close right?"

"Yes. Do you remember everything now." He asked, looking over excited.

"Everything? So there's more? Oh Gracious Lord! My head is starting to ache so bad."

Lorraine threw her hands up in the air. "Okay that's enough activity for one day." She looked at Ella with a mock glare. "Ella stop thinking too much and try not to pull that stunt again. You had us all scared!"

I threw a look at Douglas and he just shrugged his shoulders. I pulled out my phone to text him and ask him why she was here and he said she had been here since her mother travelled since Ben told her that she used to work here before the accident.

"It's just that-"

Lorraine cut her off, grabbing Douglas arm as she pulled him to his car. "It's just that we have a date to go to and Beck here will take care of you." She grinned at me. "Bye Beck!"

Ella groaned, still massaging her head as she walked into the house. I stood outside for a while praying that she already walked to her room.

After a while, I walked in when I was sure that the coast was clear. I sighed in relief when I didn't see her and I rushed upstairs to my room and immediately I came in contact with my bed, I drifted off to sleep.

I yawned as I stretched. I looked at my body and I realized that I had gone to bed without taking off my clothes. I sat down on the bed and pulled off my shoes and clothes.

My stomach grumbled and I laughed. I had forgotten to eat too. I put on my grey sweat pants and walked down to the kitchen, shirtless. It was three in the morning and I couldn't go back to bed with an empty stomach.

I heard some shuffling sounds in the kitchen and I stopped. I thought I told my driver to inform the guards that I didn't want any visitors or wait maybe someone broke into my house.

Yeah right Beck, You live in a house with the best security system and guards. I shook my head trying to get rid of any ounce of sleep. Who knows? I might just be daydreaming but why was the person eating my food. I walked carefully to where the person stood and I held the person's arm and when she turned, we both screamed.

"Oh it's just you." She laughed as he held her chest and I found myself laughing too.

How could I have forgotten that Ella was here.

"Yeah Sorry if i scared you." I apologized and she scoffed. "No really I'm sorry."

"It's okay. We scared each other." She smiled, looking down at my chest. Apparently, I forgot to wear a shirt too.

"Sorry about this too." I pointed to my bare chest and she smiled. "Ella that's my food."

She coughed. "Sorry I was just really hungry. Sit down and join me then."

"Since when did you start waking up in the middle of the night?" I grabbed a seat and I started eating.

"Oh this isn't how I used to be?" She shrugged her shoulders. "Because I wake up all the time to eat."

I nodded slowly processing the new piece of information. "Okay."

She bobbed her head along to the song that was playing from the radio. I smiled watching her hum the lyrics of Mahalia's good company.

I cocked my eyebrow. "I see you're a big fan of Mahalia too." I said and she froze.
